We came here for a nice dinner and it was very good. We had fried fish, cappachio, fish in sauce, chocolate cake, and turimusu. It is a lovely restaurant for a celebration or a nice night out. The view is tops, the service is good as is the food.

My family ate at Sobre las Olas during our recent trip to visit the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica. The restaurant was recommended by one of the ladies who works at the Sanctuary. The Snapper I had was one of the best tasting pieces of fish I have ever experienced. My wife had pasta (she enjoyed it). My daughter had... More

Everything was incredible, but it was a bit pricey, as is food in general in Cahuita. I would recommend ordering a seafood dish. Also, the desserts are very tasty.

We went there for a nice family dinner - 2 of us had the Fish in Carribean Sauce, 1 Marco`s Spaghetti with mixed Seafood and one the fish of the day ( Red Snapper). The fish was excellent - fresh and well spiced. Not to forget the "Entrada" ( Appetizer) - Avocado Salad and Swordfish Capacio. It is not the... More

We rode bikes from town to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday. We read that this had great Italian seafood. The food was great, each dish covered in the freshest basil. We had apps and each got different dishes. We could not decide which tasted better. This is a great restaurant to share our celebration!

We visited Sobre Las Olas as it was close to our lodging. We got there at sunset and the views are amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed the ocean. They have a hammock hanging over the beach which we couldn't resist a swing or two in. I had the Arroz con Pollo and while it was tasty, the meal was... More

We learned that nearly all fish is caught in the pacific, frozen, and brought to the atlantic, except for here. Though a little pricey, the owner catches his fish every morning (except Tuesday). And, the beach front seating is amazing!

The fish was was great, both with beautifully crispy batter and in the flavoursome Caribbean sauce. For the non fish-eaters, my daughter says that the steak was excellent too. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here - stunning view, great service and a laid back atmosphere that let us play our family game of cards.

My brother, nephew and I had lunch here recently and totally enjoyed everything about this restaurant. We sat at a table outside, with the beach and waves just about 50 feet from our table. The service was excellent, the waitress/owner recommended a fish dish for my brother which was delicious - a whole broiled fish, lightly spiced. I had ratatouille,... More

Fresh ingredients and simplicity make for a fine meal! This place is all about the main dish although the veggies are just as fresh. This rasta chef can cook!! I've been to many places and this was the best red snapper I've ever tasted! I also had the Caribbean snapper which had unique delicious flavores with a hint of coconut... More
