We have eaten here numerous times and each time something different has been a let down. The first time we wanted to sit at the teppan grill and we were informed since my girlfriend wanted sushi and i wanted the grill we couldn't sit at teppan grill and had to sit at table. They were seating a party of 4... More

I have been to this restaurant recently, and it was as good as i remember it. The food was very good quality and the service was spot on. We order one of their dinner menus which is a very good value considering that it was a very good meal. All the plates of the meal were right next to each... More

This authentic Japanese Restaurant has excellent service and a tranquil atmosphere. The food is always fresh and delivered with the utmost service. I've eaten here dozens of times over the years when I visit Costa Rica (from Colorado/California), and it's my go to place near Santa Ana/Belen. It's priced moderately, as you do pay for great food and service, but... More

Service was pretty good, but food was just so so for Japanese food. I ordered the tempura and it was a heavy egg batter not light and crisp like I prefer.

We had two great meals here and were really delighted both times with the quality of the food! The restaurant wasn't very crowded so our service was prompt and the "hibachi" chef was masterful. Given US prices, I felt the meal was reasonable in cost.

I enjoyed "the boat" the prepare with different types of sushi, shashimi, etc. The wine options are very limited and sometimes they do not have the best ones. The restaurant is a bit pricey.

Never have been disappointed with their food. If you have more than 2 guests order a boat with sushi. Just commenting because there is not much choice here and they always have been good.

My husband and I stayed at the Wyndham (what a disappointment) and chose Sakura because it is in walking distance to the hotel (it's practically connected). The service was excellent and the sushi was fresh and presented beautifully. The meal wasn't cheap, but it was a wonderful experience.

Very important to mention that Costa Rica, for me, do NOT mean fusion food or creative food, so, it´s a very honest Japonese restaurant. Nothing in special in the menu, but good quality sushi and sashimi. Should invest on some creative or high fusion Japonese menu.

The media shows it as a very good restaurant. But my experience was mixed: the salmon sashimi was a tiny portion for the price, and did not taste OK. The wasabi was weak (probably doused with starch). The attendants were all very nice, though. But thre I shall never return! The salmon sashimi I ate came with a cheap plastic... More
