AMAZING - a MUST DO

Brian is a GREAT server, ask for him if he's there. Great restaurant, right on the beach, great food and fabulous drinks. Enjoy a leisurely lunch with toes in the sand and a wonderful ocean breeze!

We went to La Palapa every evening at 5:00ish, to sit at a table out on the beach to watch the Gorgeous sunsets. We had two for one Pina Coladas and they were the BEST either of us had ever had! The same with the ceviche-delicious! The waitors are fun and friendly and treat you as family. Two of the... More

Seeking a quiet place on the beach to have a drink I was encouraged to try La Palapa. I asked if they served horchata- my favorite desert drink. I was assured that if I went, they would have it. We were seated outside on the beach to watch the beautiful sunset while we waited for the rest of our group.... More

Recommended by the local jewelry vendor who we bought homemade nice necklaces from, I think it was the best seafood I've had since Mamas Fish House on Maui. Staff were cool and friendly and the sunset from the table was spectacular, past the mellow surfers and moored fishing boats. We'll go back for more; the owner says that after sunset... More

Our family of 6 had a wonderful lunch right on the beach! Our waiter Michael was very friendly. The food here was great and the 2 for one happy hour drinks were yummy!

We walked to La Papalapa hotel and restaurant and rented chairs everyday we were on the beach in Tamarindo. One of the best places to relax because of all the palm trees (shade if you want it). We ate lunch here every day and it was good. Eric was the hardest working man we met. He brought us beer and... More

We had walked along the beach and decided to stop for something to eat. We sat and ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer. We also ordered our lunch we both had a mahi mahi fish sandwich. The server forgot to give us our chips. No worries we just wanted to make sure we were not charged for the. We... More

Just can't believe how significantly they messed up most of our dishes. Those that were correct were good, but it didn't make up for all the blunders. They added incorrect and extra dishes, delivered them, and then charged for them. Definitely would pick another place.

Three out of four dinners was inedible. The prices were over the top, over $100. Too many other choices to eat in area. The first clue should have been as soon as we arrived we were told they lost electricity. Don't waste your time or money at this place.
