Phew! Blessed ocean breeze! After shopping the hot morning away in surf-town Tamarindo, we knew we wanted to relax with an ocean breeze and view. La Palapa didn't disappoint! The beer was cold, the service was quick without hurrying us, the food was delicious, and the view and the breeze were wonderful. Enjoy!

We enjoyed the food here, in a casual setting ,right on the beach. Music is provided on some nights. The service was a bit slow, but we were not in a rush. The seafood was excellent, and nicely presented. When we asked our waiter where to find a cab for the short ride back to our hotel, he offered to... More

Started off with a complimentary shooter and free drink. It was my husbands birthday and the concierge at our hotel recommended and called a head for us. Food was great. Had the seafood platter was more then enough for 2.

Henri and staff were very welcoming. The food and ambiance were so great we went twice. First night was just my wife and I. Very romantic as we had a table on the beach under Palm trees. The seafood combo was very well done and too much food for two. The second time we took our friends for a party... More

What a great place – we were literally 20 yards from the water – with the tide coming in it looked like we might have needed to move the table had we enjoyed our stay any longer. I had the shrimp tempura and it was fabulous – great crust and 4 dipping sauces. My wife had lobster – wonderful! One... More

My boyfriend and I visited La Palapa on recommendation of our hotel. We got the special which tasted pretty decent excerpt when he woke up in the middle of the night with diarrhea which continues to persist two days later. By the way, bring your own pepto bismol because no pharmacy here has it. The dessert was decent except that... More

...and we visited La Palapa four times. On our first day, we stopped in for lunch. Unbelieveable, I had the spicy tuna and I was hooked. The next night, we brought friends along. The sunset, the food, the ambiance, phenomenal! By the third night, we were treated like family. We ordered almost everything on the menu and every bit of... More

We had dinner at La Palapa during our stay in Guanacaste. The dinner was very good. I had the red snapper which was excellent. The sunset from the restaurant was just the icing on the cake. The service was very slow, but heck, we are on vacation, who cares right? LOL I would go back to this restaurant. I really... More

Love the beach setting at La Palapa , very romantic at sunset. I have been there for lunch and dinner several times. Burger for lunch was good however the blackened tuna can not be beat! I will be back!!

This restaurant was highly recommended & did not disappoint. I had the red snapper which was excellent & my husband had the blackened tuna which he said was the best he's ever had. The location on the beach can't be beat. This was one of our best meals in Tamarindo.
