We went to El Coconut twice for lunch while we were at the beach, we just popped up to grab a bite to eat. The lunch was good, they have a small lunch menu where the burger was about $10 american and a chicken sandwich (i recommend this) was about the same. The menu was always the same both times... More

We held our rehearsal dinner and welcome party for our 20 wedding guests at El Coconut. From the moment we met Katharina on our planning trip last year (2013) we knew we wanted her involved in our wedding weekend in some way. She cares immensely about the experience that every person who walks in her restaurant receives. She is a... More

This restaurant was convienetly located right across the street from my hotel . Went there for a nice dinner . Wonderful service . The owner was a gem and so was her staff . The food portions were on the smaller side versus other restaurants , yes that's true , but it was filling and rich with flavor . Thank... More

It's always a pleasure to return to El Coconut. The food is consistently wonderful and the service is great! Each plate is a work of art and perfect for the palate. Katharina makes you feel like family. I'll be back when I return to Tamarindo next year!

We tried many restaurants in Tamarindo and we were very disappointed in all of them. On our last day in Tamarindo we found El Coconut and were completely blown away. The owner is a pure delight to talk with. I had a lobster dish that is one of the best meals in my life. We are from Dallas Texas with... More

We came here for dinner on a night that the restaurant was not crowded. We were very surprised, after eating in town all week of the prices, small portions and not so hot service.

We visit Costa Rica often and have eaten at many restaurants, but El Coconut is always our favorite. Catherina, the owner, is always available to take special care of anything you need and she always has the freshest local seafood that is prepared superbly. No need to dress up, in fact we came from the beach, put on some dry... More

After spending nearly a week in Tamarindo, we had not had much luck finding good food. Fortunately we came across El Coconut the last night of our stay and were so impressed that we were disappointed we hadn't found it sooner! Fresh fish daily, great lunch and dinner. Most of all, the owner, Catarina, is extremely welcoming and brought many... More
