Description: This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

Average food a little pricey. Drinks are great. I had Chicken and it was ok. Not on the Ocean but the building was charming.

We had a later dinner not eating until 8pm or so, and we had almost the whole restaurant to ourselves which was AWeSOME! The restaurant was very busy the night before so I was surprised but didn't bother us! I had the surf and turf and my husband has the filet mignon, both were really good. We were recommended this... Went to have a romantic dinner with my husband and had an excellent experience. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. The owner was clearly a wonderful woman who was admired and loved by all her neighbours. The sax player was fantastic, never missing a beat. Great dinner out, great food, will go back and bring the rest... More

We had dinner on the front patio and was one of our most enjoyable meas we had in Costa Rica. The service was above and beyond.

I loved this restaurant and so did the family. Lobster like you have never had. The only reason I do not give it a 5* rating is because I was surprised at how expensive it was for the type of restaurant. We pad less for a comparable meal at the JW for comparisons sake and it was more than a... More

don't be deceived by the value of the set menu. Edible but average. Explains why in the busiest season it was one of the only places in town you could always get a table. Very accommodating staff, just not on a par with other option in Tamarindo

The seafood was the freshest we had in Tamarindo. The owner is a Norwegian women who was very friendly and ensured that the service was very strong. The location is ideal (right across from Witches Rock/Joes). Would highly recommend the avocado with sautéed shrimp appetizer. Overall, a simple and solid place to try given the price point. Would recommend to anyone... More

If you can put up with the loud music followed by an even louder Mariachi band complete with blaring trumpet you will be rewarded with good but not great fish. This is not the place to buy a steak, however. Service was very good. Over-priced. Lots of better choices in Tamarindo.

We arrived there after not finding place in Panga's, and were nicely impressed by the service and the host, Norwegian, very proud to have her wines chilled in a cave!!! Not normal in this part of the world. The food was good, sauces were amazing and preparation was overall good. I went for the tuna, and it was fresh, seared... More

On the main drag but a bit away from the center. Promising decor and presentation with warm atmosphere. It may have been my choices but the quality of the food did not match the looks and the prices of the place.
