Description: This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

We arrived there after not finding place in Panga's, and were nicely impressed by the service and the host, Norwegian, very proud to have her wines chilled in a cave!!! Not normal in this part of the world. The food was good, sauces were amazing and preparation was overall good. I went for the tuna, and it was fresh, seared... More

On the main drag but a bit away from the center. Promising decor and presentation with warm atmosphere. It may have been my choices but the quality of the food did not match the looks and the prices of the place.

Nice owner welcomes you, and she is a local and her pride and joy is this place which won a Trip advisor honor in 2013. The only reason that I'm rating this Average is because my 10 lb Lobster was $32 ( $16 Costa Rican dollars) Pretty high for lunch. So... go for happy hour prices- which are are really... More

We dined here last night. We ate at Wild Panda Fri night and FT's on Thursday night. Both excellent food quality and reasonable prices - see below. Good drinks too. At El Coconut, you can expect: Drinks were very watered down- almost no rum in them and very expensive. Small Mojito with almost no rum was almost $10. Same with... More

Dropped in for lunch mid afternoon. The place was very quiet at that time. Service was great and I enjoyed a very tasty fish sandwich. Everybody in our party was happy with service and food.

Went there for a business dinner and order tuna, the taste and preparation where not up to what I was hopping. My friend order the shrimp with coconut and was happy with the dish. Service was average.

For years I have gone to Tamarindo and made sure to eat at El Coconut. It is a sure fire, great meal with fabulous service. Sure there are trendy, 'hip' places popping up but for my money, for a meal that is well prepared, with attention to detail and customer service there is nothing better than dinner at El Coconut.... Had an amazing dinner with friends. The food is of an incredibly high quality rather than so-so disguised with fancy fusion. The plantain spider had a ginger flavor with something else we spent the whole appetizer trying to identify. The gazpacho was perfect. The filet minion was the best I've ever had! It melted in the mouth!

wandered over here and was grated immediately by the owner Katrina who was super friendly and welcoming. They were celebrating their 25th yr in business and offering 25% off total tab if paid in cash so after looking at menu decided to have dinner here with my boyfriend. Open air dining room with great knowledgable staff. I come from Northeast... More
