This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

Excellent food and service!

This place has a great ambiance and the food is fantastic. I'm a vegetarian and they remembered each time I went. The service was on point and went out of their way to please us. I'll definitely be back.

After some great meals in Tamarindo, we were very disappointed with the food. Glad I'd had lobster before as this would not encourage you to try it again. Overpriced for the quality with a pushy waitress. Could not recommend.

Él Coconut presents a fine dining atmosphere on the Main Street of the beach town. The ambiance didn't fit the location, in that we were in beach casual mode. If you are here for a wedding and want a great place to take your party, this would be it. It was too pricey for an evening meal after a day... More

Had our rehearsal dinner here for a large group, 64 adults and 14 kids. The owner was very helpful and responded to my emails promptly. We had the price, menu, drinks, and seating all worked out before our arrival. The food was fantastic and there were no complaints. All the food came out hot which is very hard with such... More

Location is right on the main street. Food is good, not the best but good. We would go back. It's hard to find a bad place in Tamarindo.

We were really hoping this place could deliver some delicious food. They have a fine appearance and friendly staff, so we were pretty optimistic. When they brought out dry dinner rolls ( the ones you pick up in the bread aisle at the store) and oil and vinegar to dip them in was probably a good indication that this was... More

Te owner sat in the entrance greeting patrons with a sincere smile and kind words...she gave you a great feeling even before any service or food had begun. I Had an avocado shrimp app that was killer!! The main course was a beautiful filet of Mahi with a dill lime sauce that was so light and refreshing that I craved... More

This place was on the opposite side of all the other restaurants in town, and not an area we frequented or saw much in. We were a little unsure about checking it out, but so glad we did, by far one of the best meals we had! Staff was super attentive, helpful with suggestions and friendly. The atmosphere was really... Great tropical wood open air atmosphere with a casual hint of sophistication. Excellent seafood and the house specialty, Lobster Neptune is worth the price. Went there twice in seven days and was not disappointed.
