This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

Tamarindo fine dining

Great food, great atmosphere. Had fish with shrimp and calamari and wife had fish with shrimp and coconut curry sauce. Mine was part of a dinner deal that came with ceviche and an awesome bananas-foster-like dessert. Just so happens that we had the whole place to ourselves, which was fun... read more

We decided to try this restaurant, just across from Witches' Rock surf camp, after our guide recommended it. Though it is a bit away from the strip, it is still quite accessible, just past the Sunrise condos. We were pleased with our meals, and happy that our server switched us to another waiter, who spoke French. The service was pleasant... More

Good seafood and dessert! A little pricey but nice atmosphere and the waitstaff was very nice. Went there to see if Antonio was playing since we had heard him earlier and really enjoyed his music.

We had passed El Coconut several times on our way in and out of Tamarindo, but decided to try it on our final night of vacation when we heard that Tony Putaggio – amazing latin guitarist – plays there on Tuesday nights (we had heard him play earlier in our stay and LOVED him). The ambiance is nice and the... More

Been here several times over the years. It's always good. One of the best wait staff in town. They even cut up my son's chicken for him. When we left, we got a sincere thank you, good night and a handshake. The food is good. A little pricey but it's always good.

After some great meals in Tamarindo, we were very disappointed with the food. Glad I'd had lobster before as this would not encourage you to try it again. Overpriced for the quality with a pushy waitress. Could not recommend.

Él Coconut presents a fine dining atmosphere on the Main Street of the beach town. The ambiance didn't fit the location, in that we were in beach casual mode. If you are here for a wedding and want a great place to take your party, this would be it. It was too pricey for an evening meal after a day... More

This place has a great ambiance and the food is fantastic. I'm a vegetarian and they remembered each time I went. The service was on point and went out of their way to please us. I'll definitely be back.

Had our rehearsal dinner here for a large group, 64 adults and 14 kids. The owner was very helpful and responded to my emails promptly. We had the price, menu, drinks, and seating all worked out before our arrival. The food was fantastic and there were no complaints. All the food came out hot which is very hard with such... More

Location is right on the main street. Food is good, not the best but good. We would go back. It's hard to find a bad place in Tamarindo.
