This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

so glad we tried it out

This place was on the opposite side of all the other restaurants in town, and not an area we frequented or saw much in. We were a little unsure about checking it out, but so glad we did, by far one of the best meals we had! Staff was super attentive, helpful with suggestions and friendly. The... read more

Great tropical wood open air atmosphere with a casual hint of sophistication. Excellent seafood and the house specialty, Lobster Neptune is worth the price. Went there twice in seven days and was not disappointed.

My husband and I went to the El Coconut restaurant in Tamarindo, Costa Rica as we had heard good things about it. We got there early but there was only one other person in the restaurant. My husband ordered the lobster with butter and I ordered the chicken with peach sauce. My husband said the lobster was better than average... More

Surprisingly after a week in Costa Rica, we had a hard time finding great seafood. At Coconuts the search was over! We had Ahi tuna steaks medium rare and they were outstanding. A friend ordered ceviche and said it was exquisite. It's a touch pricier than other spots but the food quality is worth it. Our table of 10 all... More

This was one of the best meals we had in Costa Rica. The menu was varied and interesting with something for everyone in the family. The service was attentive and efficient and the restaurant itself had a wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed all of our dishes, the mahi mahi, pasta with seafood, steak and desserts were all excellent. The owner came... More

This had to be one of my favorite meals! I ordered mahi mahi on top of rice and vegetables with a thyme cream sauce. Each bit was delicious. The owner Katharina even came over and asked us if everything was ok. We said it was excellent. She took the time and care to make sure our meal was to our... More

We're here for daughters 40th birthday. The food was nothing short of awesome. Mariachi band singing happy birthday and owner sending in a delicious piece of cheesecake. Perfect!

Ate here our 2nd night in Tamarindo. Food and service were great! Everyone (48,47,16 and13) left full and happy. A little pricey, but worth it. Norwegian owner is a doll.
