Jardin Marino is an open-air restaurant on the main street, a hundred metres or so from the beach. Being just that far off the beach is enough to moderate its prices. The food beats all the beachfront places we tried, and was better priced. Try the ceviche mixto. It was the best ceviche we had in Costa Rica, and very... More

We ate here our last night. Wanted to have local food. The food is simple but tasty. We had Casado and chicken and rice. Service was great and the price was good.

Looking for good local food in Playa Samara? This is the place. The decor is simple, in traditional Costa Rican style, but the food and the service was great. The owner Manuel was friendly and accommodating. Most of us ate the very generous casado plate, some with chicken, some with fish and I had the vegetarian plate. The food was... More

Stopped in with the family for lunch. The server greeted us with a huge smile, welcome plus a high chair. The Casado was excellent especially the mango salsa. The Natural drinks are also fantastic plus the view of the you boy juggling the bladder of a soccer ball on the field across the street made my day. He is another... More

It was a perfectly OK meal, the price was OK and the service was pleasant but there was nothing to set the taste buds on fire. My Veg Casado was fresh but SOO plain. His chicken with mush sauce was perfectly OK. The wine was not good and more expensive than we paid elsewhere for better. A serviceable place lacking... More

This is a family owned restaurant. Manuel is there from Breakfast till 11 PM, He is there to serve your every need. If it's not on the menu, and they have the makings in the kitchen, they prepare it for you. I was yearning for guacamole and chips so he whipped some up with the Best chips.Their portion sizes are... Everyone in our party liked their dinners, except the person who ordered pork ribs. Their whole fish was excellent, chicken and rice very good,,ceviche very good. Breakfast was pretty good too. Friendly waiters and good service. Look for it right on main street.

ate the whole fish here, but have to say we had a much better one at Casa Esmeralda for almost the same price. Service was great and the place overall is OK.

The restaurant facility is very basic -- old sign, cafeteria-like tables -- but the food is very tasty and the prices were a dollar or so cheaper than other restaurants on the main street in Samara. We went twice for lunch. Have the casado -- good with chicken or fish.

This is the cheapest place to eat in the center of Sámara. And the food is pretty good. A typical casado runs about $6-7, which is more expensive than much of Costa Rica, but a good price for a beach town. The guanabana refrescos are awesome, be sure to ask if they have any.
