Great place to catch football matches. They have the main channels but will try to find your game using the internet. The delicious thai salad at 2700 colones is huge and great value. Occasional live music.

Good portions of everything! Casados were very filling and a bit above the average price, huge salad and ceviche came with patacones and tortillas. Waiters were very attentive. Worth a second visit!

This is a bar that sits above the main street in Samara. It stays open later than the local restaurants and has a DJ spinning some music at night. There isn't much to it (just some low-end lighting) but it is fine to grab a drink and mingle. This is where I expect the single "crowd" to gather at night.

The portions of the incredible food are unbelievable. At least 50% of the customers have take away. The prices reflect 2 meals per person... One in the restaurant and one back in your hotel or wherever.... They're that big!

I went here a few times to watch (American) football with my husband, and it is one of only a couple of places in town to do this - for this I highly recommend. Good cold drinks, friendly bartenders. We only ate a couple of appetizers, and found them to be fine but not great. In particularly, we found the... More

Only been in town a few days but have been here twice. We like spicy food and they have really good Buffalo wings and you can get them grilled. The service can be a little slow depending on who is working but the bartenders speak good English and they have lots to choose from both drink and food wise. Prices... More

We went here several times, it's a great people watching spot being located on the second floor. Loved the folks that hang out there - a great mix of locals and tourists. Don't miss your favorite sporting event, they seem to be able to get just about everything. Check out the live music on Saturday evening. It's pretty mellow but... More

Right on the main drag, it's fun to sit at the high table on the balcony edge and watch the people and traffic on the street below. I'm a vegetarian, but I did allow myself one fish meal while staying near the ocean - and it was the ceviche from this place. WELL worth the 'cheat' for me. They were... More

Mmm the frozen mojitos are to die for! Go there in happy hour and drink as many as you can! Noisy, lively bar, great for people watching, full of expats. Did I mention the frozen mojitos?

Sámara is a tourist destination and the prices for food and drink reflect this. That said, Bar Arriba has some specials like two for one that make it bearable. The atmosphere is very pleasant - well lit and not too noisy. There are several TVs with sporting events going at all times, but they don't prevent you from chatting with... More
