Good but spendy

The food was very good but double check you bill. Pretty sure we were overcharged $20. Language barrier is a bit tough to get thru. Hard to order if they don't understand what you are saying.

Eat and drink like a local. Delicious Costa Rican food, fresh fish and cold beers. Very friendly owners and patrons made us feel welcome. We were staying at the El Velero Hotel across the dirt road and visited frequently. We seemed to be the only tourist and were always warmly welcomed. Small outdoor bar and a casual, inexpensive restaurant. Great... More

Floribet is an absolute gem in Playa Hermosa. The first night we arrived, we quickly purchased some beers and disappeared to our hotel room across the road. The next night we stopped in for a quick refreshment and ended up spending the entire evening chatting and sharing stories. She told us all about her 5 kids and life in general.... More

Let me start by saying we did not eat here. We stopped for a couple beers late in the evening with another couple. The kitchen is in the rear and has an entry from the alley that opens into from a bedroom. The kitchen was a mess and the bedroom was unkempt and looked nasty (the two are attached). Moreover,... This restaurant has singlehandedly ruined playa Hermosa. This is a open walled restaurant. At around 9:00pm he starts karaoke and does not stop till after 1:00 in the morning. You come to playa Hermosa because it is not playa Tamarindo. You expect a laid back relaxing place. This one restaurant wrecks the ambience of the entire village. I'm sure their... More

Ticos love it. Gringos stay away. Twice I went there and twice I got screwed over by the servers. This joint takes advantage of gringos by charging more for food and drink PLUS they seem to take pleasure in giving back incorrect change. Food is mediocre at best. Bottom line: stay away, there are too many other places to go.

This small local eatery, located across the street from El Velero Hotel, is a hidden gem. We stopped for a quick lunch before a sail boat trip. What a treat - the Casada was the best we had had on this trip. The Mahi-Mahi had a little too much garlic, but was otherwise very good, and the beers were ICE... More

A great place to get a taste of authenticity. As a woman alone be aware that you are a mark for robbery. Do not carry valuables and do not walk on the beach after dark. Go to this bar with others and enjoy it but be very cautious otherwise.

I was searching for a small family-run seafood place in Playa Hermosa and Pescado Loco was it. Ordered what was fresh each day and had amazing shrimp, sea bass, red snapper and soup. The family that runs it are very nice and welcoming. There's a dinning room and a cool little bar. It's a block off the beach near the... More

From the outside, this looks like a hole in the wall. Inside though you will find a nice dining area with excellent food. My fish dish was moist and tasty as was my wifes selection. The staff didn't speak a lot of english but the menu was in english and they tried their best to be accomodating. Definitely recommended
