My wife and I wandered into Pescado Loco on night, and we were the only tourists there. However, within minutes, we felt like we were home. Despite our limited Spanish, Floribeth communicated wonderfully with us, and recommended some of the best Mahi Mahi that we had in Costa Rica. She was friendly and welcoming, and even brought us back behind... More

We chose this place because it seemed popular with the local Ticos. From the time we ordered until we were served, it was over one hour. Meanwhile there was one table of four who were eating, two other tables had already been waiting before we ordered. No one spoke English, but with our little Spanish we understood that one of... This place is in the dusty back alley of the El Velero Hotel with vintage furniture and ambiance High prices during Tourist season and be prepared to drink lots of beer to wash down the dust generated by the traffic.

Upon entering this small eatery, you feel you're in the kitchen of a close friend. Locals flock here, always a good sign. The folks in charge greeted us warmly and were patient with my Spanglish. Home-style cutlery and glasses add to a comfortable feel. The food was nice. I was surpirsed by the high prices for seafood, so we had... More

Way over priced. Supposed to be a "soda". Either this place has two menus or they have only one with really inflated GRINGO pricing. BTW, I live here and will never set foot in there again.

Had the opportunity to eat at this lovely local restaurant twice while staying at the Condovac resort. This restaurant is delightful and the fish is some of the freshest I have had in some time. The whole red snapper was well-prepared as were the local side dishes. If you want to get good local cuisine and are a fan of... More

When deciding to vacation in Costa Rica, I did not want American Food. I can get that at home. I wanted to eat what the locals eat. The food at Pescado Loco was authentic, fresh and delicious. The owner Florabeth was gracious with my broken Spanish. Thank you for all five meals, see you next year!

Playa Hermosa is quite after dark. So if you are looking evening cocktail or two, try the Pescado Loco next the Velero Hotel. Tell the owner, Florabeth, that “baile Tomas” sent you. You may get a big smile and stronger drinks.

My wife and I had dinner here after a great day at Playa Hermosa. It is convieniently located right near the parking area. The service was great. They were very forgiving with our bad attempts at conversational Espanol and we had a lot of fun learning. The food was very fresh (I grew up in a seaside town so I... More
