This is where the locals hang out. They have an extensive menu. For $6 you can get fried chicken. It is awesome. It is more of a bar atmosphere so you get a great assortment of people.

I would give this place 3 stars but there's not another restaurant nearby so I bumped them up a notch for location. The restaurant seems to be a popular hangout for surfers and locals. It's 10 minutes from the beach so it's not a place with much ambiance. If you're looking for a romantic dinner in a beautiful setting this... More

There isn't much competition in this remote area. The staff is friendly and the food is ok. Feels more like a nice hangout than a Restaurant. It is in a wooden hut with rugged charm, but the neon light is a but harsh for my taste. Come here to drink cold Imperials, play some pool after a day at the... More

We visited after surfing a couple of times to grab some breakfast. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and had great meals. We will visit again next time in Playa Grande.

The food was average... nothing I would say I LOVED but given that most places were closed after a certain time (6pm- June, rainy season), this option is okay. Their fruit shakes were very good and their mixed alcoholic drinks were good too. My only complaint was the service time. It could be because Costa Rica has a very "relaxed"... More

Delicious and reasonably priced! The menu in English and Spanish made it fun to brush up on our Spanish while we waited.

With somewhat limited options in Playa Grande, this place was perfectly fine. It's a local place and open more hours than some other places. The mango smoothies were good, as was the service. The menu is pretty extensive. We ate there twice. Once we got rice dishes, which I found a little on the greasy side. The next time my... More

I liked that this restaurant was a local hangout. It was good to get a feel for the local culture and food. That said, the local food is not as good compared to the many other excellent choices in Playa Grande. I'm glad we went for the experience and the service was great and friendly. I'd go back.

When in need if staying near the Rip Jack there is This little spot. Basically a convenience store that has bread, water, pop, beer and wine. Prices for wine were about 4500 colones so similar to the grocery store. Also you can get jam etc but the closest grocery store is in the other part of Playa Grande.

We ate here twice during our 4-day stay in Playa Grande - both times for dinner! It was very good and the service was excellent (even when they were very busy they were attentive and friendly). The casados and Arroz con camarones were very good! Our boys also really enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese. I recommend this place for authentic Tico... More
