Description: Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero...
Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero. Before you turn right at the beach at Restaurant Plemar keep on going straight all way to the back of the road (about 100m). You'll find a fisherman's house with a small eating place next to the beach. Here they'll serve you the catch of the day without paying Flamingo prices. This google search (El Estero Azul Playa Flamingo) has little information but at least lets you know it's legit. GREAT PLACE!

Best little soda right on the beach!!!

If you are walking on the Playa Potrero beach you will want to stop at this little eating establishment right on the edge of the beach. We have eaten here several times and have brought visiting family and friends here and have never had a bad meal. There is quite a menu selection and the cold... read more

This is anything but an upscale restaurant but the local food is delicious and freshly prepared. The Casadas, typical local dishes, are large portions, wonderfully tasty and inexpensive (about $8.00 CDN + 10% service charge). You can choose from chicken, fish, meat or pork chops. You can't go wrong with any of them. Make sure you get there before sunset... More

Went here twice once for lunch chicken & rice was good seafood & rice better. Walked here for breakfast one morning great food. Another great thing beside the food was the view of the beach and boats in this cove area.

Great place for lunch or dinner directly on the beach. I love whole red snapper, but lately find the prices in this area to be going way up. Lucky for me we took a chance on Estero Azul... You have to find this place but very much worth it once you do. Friendly staff and the red snapper was perfect...... More

This is a great little restaurante on the water. Locally owned all local food with good service and great view of the water. This is not on the main road so it takes a little to find and you may think you are lost...but you are not...fresh whole red snapper and the shrimp and rice was excellent!

Soda Y Restaurante El Estero Azul has a beautiful location on the edge of the beach. It is pretty basic but serves really good food so long as you don't mind the wait, which was pretty extreme even by Costa Rican lunch standards! No problem though as really friendly staff and it is a lovely place to while away an... More

We ate at many places in Costa Rica during our trip (Monteverde, Montezuma, Playa Flaminog, Brasilito) and this was hands down the best place we ate at all trip. They have fresh snapper that they catch daily and sell until it is out. It is a bit off the beaten path down this dirt road but is well worth the... More

The best seafood you will find in the area. I ordered the red snapper $12. I was served two nice sized fish that I think had been grilled. Absolutely delicious. I was with a group of four. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Too bad I found this hidden gem on my last day. This is very unpretentious dinning. The location is... More

This place is amazing! If you are looking for a typical Costa Rican dish - their casados were among the best. I hope we get to go back when we return to Costa Rica for another vacation.

Eating here was a trip highlight. Sitting in the open air on the beach was wonderful. The best part was being in a place that locals also ate. The food was good. We came back the next day and the server remembered what I ordered.
