Description: Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero....
Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero. Before you turn right at the beach at Restaurant Plemar keep on going straight all way to the back of the road (about 100m). You'll find a fisherman's house with a small eating place next to the beach. Here they'll serve you the catch of the day without paying Flamingo prices. This google search (El Estero Azul Playa Flamingo) has little information but at least lets you know it's legit. GREAT PLACE!

Another cheap local place for good food

This place was right near where we were staying and featured casado, which we tried to eat at least one meal each day. My wife is 1/2 Tica, so every time we come to Costa Rica its arroz con frijole fest and I'm happy to tag along. What it lacks in ambience, it makes up for in local flavor, food... read more

Shrimp and avocado. (dropping the mic). Reasonably priced and fantastic relaxing water view. Service can be a little slow, but with a smile and good nature.

This is the locals seafood spot, non pretentious family owned relax beach side food joint. Our kids loved the wings lol; we loved everything. Here you can eat drink, hang out or just chill out. They make mostly everything to order so expect no rush. Please support this hard working family and have a great time at the same time.... More

Went here twice and it was consistently crowded with locals; a good sign. Easily the best tipico / casado meals of the entire trip. Would recommend the fried whole fish and arroz con shrimp. Fried chicken ain't bad either. The atmosphere (overlooking the beach) is picturesque; it feels like vacation. BONUS: cute dog on site.

Love this place !! Eat there 3-4 times a week . Great tico breakfast . FRESH FRESH fish at all hours . How about grilled octopus for breakfast ? Cold beer , sodas , and fruit smoothies . no wine or liquor . Ask to meet Dona Anna the matriarch who runs the place . Not much English spoken but... More

Just what we were looking for. Whole Fried snapper, ceviche and cold beer with a beautiful view on beach. Very rustic but awesome. Also, Tico dishes. No frills but wonderful setting.

Very tasty local food. Owners very pleasant but will correct you're Spanish pronunciation! Seems to be a family run establishment right on the beach.

This is about as local as you can get in the surfside/potrero area. Good food and plenty of stumps to sit on for the whole family. If you want tasty local style food and a super local atmosphere...this is your place!!!
