Fresh seafood and great service

We had a celebratory dinner here (three couples) and the service was great. Seafood was very fresh and tasty. The coconut shrimp was great - not overly sweet - and the red snapper and mahi mahi were as fresh as you can get.

1st night in Costa Rica - walking around the town of Playas del Coco - convinced to stop here by the guy out front - upstairs dining overlooking the Main Street- excellent Mojito at a reasonable price as well as delicious calamari. We both had fish - mine with mango sauce & my husband had the lemon sauce - both... More

We had dinner here after some guy on the street convinced the people in my group to eat here. Not usually a good sign but I went with the flow. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail, which was almost 20 bucks. 5 shrimps, 4 people, pretty uneventful start, but decent shrimp. Drinks were fine, and the service was mostly... More

There are much better places (and more scenic places) to eat in Playa del Coco. We came here our first night of six, and it was easily our worst meal. Also, they hire some guy to stand on the street and harass you until you agree to eat there, which is annoying. The waiters were nice, the drinks were good,... More

We went there for a surf and turf but they had no lobster. I had Filet Mignon and it came with a mushroom sauce/gravy that overwhelmed the filet. When I asked the waitress what this was she said the meat was the 'filet' and the sauce was the 'mignon'. Huh? The steak was cooked as rare as I like however... More

We went to Las Olas based on previous tripadvisor reviews. We were looking for some seafood dishes and decided to try this restaurant, and like others, we weren't disappointed. We ordered 4 entrees, 3 cocktails/drinks, 2 desserts for 4 people and it cost us less than $100 U.S. The waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. Don't judge the exterior, as... More

You can't go wrong at Las Olas. We had ceviche for an appetizer and it was amazing. For entrees we had Surf & Turf, which was a nice strip steak and Shrimp with Mahi Mahi and a "Stuffed Lobster". The lobster was HUGE!!! And besides the entire lobster, it was piled high with fish, calamari, crabmeat, shrimp, clams and mussels.... More
