I went with a friend and ordered a whole red snapper. The plate came out of the kitchen and it was a gorgeous 3 pound fish!!! More than enough for 2 people. The owner prepped and served the fish to us and it was incredibly good. The night we went the restaurant was packed and service was a little slow... More

This restaurant is located in a lovely courtyard in Pueblito Sur. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The menu isn't printed, instead your server will tell you about each item being offered. I ordered a mushroom and shrimp pasta that was excellent. Before my meal, the server brought out a complimentary panzanella as an appetizer and it was also... More

Nothing bad, nothing great. The fish tends to be pretty good, but unless you like rice that is really hard I would not order it. The vegetables are typically unimaginative, but that in my opinion is Tico style. Reasonable priced and filling food.

We ate here on our last night of our 10 day excursion. The setting was great in a courtyard with 3 other restaurants. Watch your step though - there are some tricky levels that aren't clearly marked. Roberto was a great waiter. Explained the meals to us (no written menus). First they bring you bread and dipping sauce. Then they... More

We ate supper at Soda Mediterranea and it was delightful. It is located away from the downtown area in a cute courtyard. You are seated outside and the setting is very enjoyable. There is no real menu but our waiter explained all the choices in a very clear manner. You do need to ask about the prices though as they... More

My husband and I had dinner here at the suggestion of our hotel's concierge. It was delicious! Definitely not an overly touristy vibe, locals cooking fresh Italian food. Outdoor seating in a quaint courtyard. They give you lots of little 'extras' with your meal - bread salad, gelato, a shot! It was absolutely the best meal we had in Costa... More

Restaurant is small and quaint. It looks simple and rustic. The menu is on a chalkboard. Don't let the looks fool you. This is the best Italian food you'll eat this side of Italy! The food is absolutely perfect. I won't forget the spaghetti. We ate here twice in 3 nights. The first night, we asked about dessert and were... More

Soda Mediterranea was very good. We ate there the final night of our month long stay. Wish we'd discovered it earlier. We had some of the best sangria we had on the trip. Also a wonderful green salad with avocado. Good calamari and the pasta with mushrooms/shrimp was excellent. They also treated us not once or twice, but 3 times... More

Excellent appetizers. Super fresh fish prepared to perfection. The owner comes to every table to meet the guests and make sure everything is ok. Highly recommended.
