Great typical food by Liberia International Airport

Wife and I stopped by La Choza de Laurel (Liberia) before dropping our car off at the nearby rental car center. I got the Plato Tipico (typical plate) and my wife got the Arroz con pollo (chicken and rice plate). We thoroughly enjoyed both our meals and the service was great. The fact that we were... read more

Must try their Gallo de pollo and Arroz con camarones. Can't fail no matter what you order. There is only one English speaking water, but shouldn't be a hurdle. We got by using our fingers to point to the items we wanted. :) plus a chilled Pilsen after a long flight is all worth it. Go here before or after... More

After landing at the Liberia airport a day before our luggage and finding our car rental company claiming mandatory full coverage insurance or $US5,000.00 deposit, we were hungry, stressed and not expecting any thing to good from the rest of the day. Driving our newly washed SUV with 115K miles on the odometer, we were driving along highway 21 and... More

We stopped for lunch after our arrival in Costa Rico. It is right next to the rental car pickup for several different companies. The fruit smoothies were excellent and so was the food. We had a couple local dishes that hit the spot for our lunch and allowed us to be on our way to begin our vacation. Worth the... More

The food was just ok, but the location just outside Liberia Airport was nice. It's right next to the Budget Rental Car. Prices are reasonable - was about $35 US for 2 entrees for us.

Stopped off after picking up our rental car for our first Casado and Imperial after arriving in Costa RIca...Food was good (We had chicken and Pork Casados)....service was average-fairly slow even by Costa Rican standards--but we weren't in a hurry so it really didn't matter... What concerned me was upon paying by credit card, my card was not returned. I... More

We stopped in here on our last night in Costa Rica after a long drive from Arenal. It's an open-air palapa along the main drag south of Liberia and near the airport. The location makes it convenient if your coming from or going to the airport or one of the rental car places. Wood-fired chicken, arroz con pollo, chicken or... More

I have eaten in La Choza de Laurel in La Fortuna, Arenal, numerous times, and I have NEVER been disappointed. I live in CR most of the year. I consider myself picky where I eat, and I have had numerous dishes, casados, chicken, pasta at their location in La Fortuna. It was the first time I ate at their restaurant... More

I went to Costa Rica Janaury 2013 and stayed at a resort close to Nosara. I flew into Liberia then spent the next week trying various Casado plates across the roughly 135km stretch between Liberia and Playa Carrillo. Granted I tried other foods but, the Casado plate for lunch became as much a staple to me as Gallo Pinto for... More
