I have eaten in La Choza de Laurel in La Fortuna, Arenal, numerous times, and I have NEVER been disappointed. I live in CR most of the year. I consider myself picky where I eat, and I have had numerous dishes, casados, chicken, pasta at their location in La Fortuna. It was the first time I ate at their restaurant... More

I went to Costa Rica Janaury 2013 and stayed at a resort close to Nosara. I flew into Liberia then spent the next week trying various Casado plates across the roughly 135km stretch between Liberia and Playa Carrillo. Granted I tried other foods but, the Casado plate for lunch became as much a staple to me as Gallo Pinto for... More

This place is very convenient once you leave the Airport and you are hungry. However, the food is not the greatest and the prices are I bit high. Lots of room, but the food is not so hot.

We had a really good meal for a fair price here a couple of weeks ago. I wish I could remember what the fried rice thing I had was called because it was so good. I think it had volcan in the name. We had good ceviche and nachos. My husband doesn't like flan and even he liked their coconut... More

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and are happy to recommend it to family and friends. It is one of our family's favourites because the food is always delicious, fresh, attractively presented, the serving staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great, the prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the coffee preparation... My husband and I would make a trip back to La Fortuna.....JUST for La Chosa de Laurel. We spent 4 nights in the La Fortuna area...and had many fabulous meals....but none that stands out like the Rotisserie Chicken at this restaurant. Not only do you get to get your juices flowing as you watch & smell these succulent chickens spin... More

I had previously read recommendations for this restaurant, and when we passed right by it, we had to stop. The restaurant is right on the main highway near the airport. We had a lot of stuff in the car, as we were coming from a hike, but we felt very safe leaving it in the car in the guarded parking... More
