Ok,as crazy as this sounds, this gem of a bakery/cafe is as authentic as bratwurst. Just south of the Liberia airport, it is a must stop for anyone who wishes to stock up on pastries, breads and sandwiches. Everything is baked on site. The owner(Hans) uses top quality imported, yes, from Germany... read more

Stopped on our way into Liberia before we fly out and the pastries were dry and not very tasty - likely a day old. Visit the one by Nuevo Arenal - outstanding.

Being German but living in Canada it was a pleasant surprise to find something so German there. I think the owner is bavarian and the cakes are very German recipies. Good value too. Shame we never got there for Applestrudel or Currywurst. No time.

Fresh, soft, yummy fresh bread, pastries, cookies and goodies. The Aleman Bakery is the best bakery in the area to ever excel in German and everyday baked goods, breads and treats. I have not eaten at the restaurant and will try in next time. If it is anything like their bakery it must be great. Enjoy your time there, should... More

We were on our 2 trip to visit family in Ocotal Beach, Guanacoste CR when my wife stopped at the German Bakery for bread and pastries while coming back from Liberia. They now have a restaraunt with very pleasant outdoor dining spaces. As a career Army Officer we lived in Germany for 3 assignments and traveled Back frequently so we... More

I lived in Germany for six years in a variety of cities. When we stopped at this restaurant and saw our German favorites, Bratwurst, Currywurst and Wurst Salad on the menu we were skeptical but it was fantastic. The food was authentic, the mixed salad was excelent and we were very pleased with the food. We took home several loaves... More

Located about 1 km west (towards Coco, Tamarindo, etc.) of the airport. The food is still very good. If you have the transportation, it is great place to eat when you have an hour between the time you check your bags at the airport and the time you have to pass through customs.

Great place to stop after picking up your rental car and again before dropping it off on the way home. Excellent food, great service for a good price.

This has been our first stop after getting off the plane at Liberia and heading for the coast in our rental car. They have the best fresh bread, and while you are waiting for the next batch to come out of the oven, their sandwiches (and cold beer) are worth indulging. Remember, whether it's a condo rental, hotel or private... More

If you have never been to Germany, don't worry, you can have the same great experience going for lunch or dinner to Panaderia Alemana. The outside deck looks like a german "Biergarten" Beautiful big playground for the kids. The food is excellent.
