Lunch in Town

We stopped in for a light lunch and glass of wine. Easy parking on the street. Interesting building--some nice photo ops. Excellent service. Very good-fresh-ceviche and tasty pommes frites. Will return for a larger meal.

We were advised by our guide book, and by one of the hotels we had stayed in recently, that this was THE place to visit in Liberia - and they were right. Set in one of Liberia's old houses, it has a small garden where we had iced coffee on our first visit. 2 days later we went for lunch.... More

Firstly, if you speak NO Spanish and are one of those people who expect to be catered to as a tourist, don't go here....head to the beach or stay at your hotel and eat. This is a lovely, local place with an amazing staff (not many speak English) The guacamole and cafe americano were beyond perfect! I was traveling with... More

to my disappointment, we had arrived when the restaurant had already close. The owner, a very kind young many from France explained he had a very busy lunch and was on his way out to shop for ingredients for dinner. the look on my face must have been tragic to cause him to immediately offer to make us a hamburger... We had the Caesar Salad (good dressing but very small portion) the Chicken Fajita and the Rigatoni. Unfortunately the rigatoni were tasteless (no salt). Relatively expensive for what we got. Service was friendly and the location was nice. But we would not visited this location twice.

Worth taking time to go to, it is charming and the chef is very attentive to his guests. A local version of Kobe beef makes for a super hamburger! We arrived just late for lunch but the chef took time to make us lunch with what he had left and it was delicious. Wish I could have come back for... More

Cafe Liberia has really good food and it is located in a beautiful historic house. The couple that owns it is very friendly too and they are really great to talk to. Great place to eat if you're in Liberia!

Had our second lunch at Cafe Liberia and it was just as good if not better than the first. Liberia is about an hour away and I could see myself making the trip just for lunch here!

Not only is the coffee excellent, the owners are super nice and there are always interesting people. I am the owner of the Rainforest Canopy Farm in Guyabal on the Miravalles Volcano and whenever my clients ask for a place to get a great cup of coffee or eat great food, I send them to Cafe Liberia. Un lugar precioso... More
