Great Meal In Arenal Area

This restaurant is perched above the road on the left as you travel from the dam at Arenal Lake to La Fortuna. We decided to eat there on our last day and are glad we did. We had such a wonderful evening! Oriel served us the BEST margaritas we had the whole trip! Also the food was out of this world! We had the guacamole, ceviche, garlic shrimp, lomo a la criolla (beef tenderlion) and everything was wonderful! This is must if you are in the Arenal area or La Fortuna!

Don't be fooled by the nondescript sign, at this restaurant you will get five star food and personable service. Go see "Bedrock", the owner and ask about his nickname.

Went here after reading so many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Fifty dollars for enormous portions of ceviche, steak, sea bass and salad, plus beers. We even did shots with one of the owners. Uriel was a superb waiter who turned on Kenny Rogers music for us. Highly recommended.

We read the great reviews and along with a recommendation from our hotel we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, there was not a sole in the place but we sat down anyway. My wife and I shared the guacamole and ceviche then shared a steak dinner. The portions are huge so this was plenty. It was... More

Don't get mislead by the outside look of the restaurant. This restaurant has very tasty typical Costa Rican food. We were not in Costa Rica to eat Italian food !!. Prices are very reasonable and the service is wonderful. On a clear day, you can see the beautiful view of the volcano mountain while you are seated. It is located... More

The off-season restaurant choices in Arenal are pretty sparse, so we took a chance on this open-air spot just off the main road. At 8:00 that evening, Cascajos was empty, but we're glad we overcame any apprehensions that gave us. Jose (our waiter, the host and, who knows, maybe the chef) was right: the best thing on the menu is... More

The food at our resort left us searching for better tasting food. Just up the street from Tabacon is a quaint, open walled building with a tin roof and the most wonderful food and awesome people who run it. The waiter explains the food on their menu completely and is very attentive. He re explained it the next night for some... More

This place had great prices on even better food. The staff was very welcoming and the one younger guy spoke GREAT English, and explained pretty much the entire menu to us, without us even asking. He knew we were lacking in the Español realm. Portions were HUGE! And there was the cutest little kitty named Linda that patiently waited for... More
