Great!

We went to Cascajo's on a whim while we were passing it on our way to/from our hotel and hiking in Arenal National Park. The food was great, and the service outstanding (though we were the only ones who stopped for lunch for quite some time). We got to see a coati up close, and the gardens in back... read more

This was our first stop on a 10 day Costa Rica tour and we loved it! The portions were huge, the owner super friendly and the resident coati and bird were a nice highlight. My son loved the ceviche and the grilled plantains were incredible.

We are so glad we decided to stop at Cascajo's for lunch! Located between Arenal Observatory Lodge and Tabacón Lodge/Hot Springs. Cascajo's is the place for amazing food, friendly people and a great view of the volcano- if no clouds. Uriel was our waiter and he was great and such a joy to be around. He took time to explain... Service was incredible, food was very very good, we loved the house special steak which had some weird sauce but was really tasty! They have a family of Coati in the jungle behind the restaurant which are super cute and friendly.

Who eats at the same restaurant two days in a row while on a vacation? Well, We did and this says a lot about it. It looks shack-like. The host/waiter was very cordial. The food was a big hit. Their seafood is worth a mention and so is their chicken in mushroom sauce. But the star of the meal was... More

First time to visit this location. The owner was there and we had a very pleasant conversation. The group of us included five individuals. Overall we were very satisfied with the quality of the food and the service was very personal and attentive. They also shared that JZ and Beyoncé had been at their restaurant the week before. The prices... More

I've been here once before a few years back and remember this place as being very good so I came back recently with my two sisters on a family vacation and sought this place out and it didn't disappoint! This restaurant is outside of La Fortuna going out towards the Arenal National Park so it's out the way but worth... More

It was raining cats and dogs and the taxi ride from Tabacon Resort was $5US one way. We were a bit shocked by the primitive open-air hut appearance, there was no décor, and no other eaters, perfect setting for a horror travel tale! But we were determined to try the local cuisine and gave it a chance anyway. We were... More

Me and my wife spent our honeymoon near La Fortuna, Costa Rica. We happened to stop by Cascajo's for dinner on a whim home from the hot springs and we were blown away. Quality cuts of meat cooked to perfection and very generous portions. Sauces were beyond par with excelleny flavors. The service couldn't have been better. Our waiter took... More
