First of all the service is excellent and friendly. Just had lunch and the place was completely full and they still managed to give good service. My wife and I have had the Casado with a pork chop and with chicken. Plus, they have the greatest liver smothered in onions. Their natural drinks are the best in Costa Rica. Do... More

We come to Fortuna a couple of times a year, and Soda El Rio always delivers on quality and price. The casados are big and full of quality ingredients. The cas en agua is the best I've ever had. And, the pollo a la plancha is tasty and filling. Arroz con pollo is the perfect serving size. I could go... More

We decided to check out after asking several locals what their favorite soda was. We really enjoyed our visit. We went across the street to get a couple of beers. The staff was friend and the service was good. We both enjoyed our meals. Very laid back way to spend the evening.

We had a nice, reasonable dinner here. I had a steak & onions and my boyfriend had a chicken dish. The food was okay. The service was outstanding - very friendly and we got to try some new things.

Good service, local food and prices. Good lunch spot. Enjoyed the plate lunch and gallo de pescado. Hit during a busy holiday but service was still good.

The food is very good- but not exceptional- its like most of the Sodas in the area. They do have a larger seating area which is nice for families. They don't serve beer, but you can buy one 2 blocks away and BOB. Fresh juices were very nice as well. Don't get me wrong- I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would... More

We stopped in here for breakfast on a time crunch. Service was really fast and the food was cooked very well. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Went here for my last dinner in Costa Rica and wished I had found it earlier in my trip. The food was fantastic, the server was great, fantastic English skills and very friendly. It sits on side street about a block up from the main street. Loved my meal and the fresh fruit juice was terrific. Good food and good... More

We came here once here for breakfast during a four-day stay in La Fortuna, and the value was exactly what we were looking for. A nice, quiet restaurant in a good location. The service was swift and the food was tasty.
