Hospitality & Good Affordable Food

The food here is very affordable. The garlic sea bass was delicious as was the chicken tico plate. Highly recommend. I watched the lady that is the owner/ manager call a taxi for a couple staying at a resort outside of town, then she waited outside in the rain for the taxi show up seeing the couple... read more

I tried many Sodas but I mean many because I love the food and the prices. This soda was recommended to us by locals. Soda Viquez was very delish and the service was fantastic! I had a hamburger with the Limon (lime) mayo it was delish. When in La Fortuna and you want a great meal with a great price... More

Great local food at reasonable prices. We asked our adventure tour driver to drop us off in town for lunch instead of taking us back to Arenal Springs Resort where the food is very expensive and not good. Our tour driver recommended two restaurants, which we checked out and then decided on this one. My husband ordered the tilapia which... More

In Costa Rica when you reach a village or town you can always spot the best cheap places to eat by the number of people inside, especially backpackers and locals. This was the case with this soda and the fish was delicious!

We stopped by based on Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Staff was very friendly and the food was tasty, fresh and authentic. We plan to go back to try other dishes. It was one of the busier places on a rainy night in the off season.

The food was delicious, service was outstanding! We were treated like family. Very reasonable in price and a big selection of food. Had the typical casado with the sea bass, absolutely excellent!

It doesn't get any more authentic than Soda Visquez! If you're staying in the area you should definitely eat here at least once. We stayed at the Mountain Paradise Hotel and it was about a 10 minute drive here. The menu has a lot of choices but the casado plates were the ones that caught our eyes. Delicious! I had... More

Since we arrived in Costa Rica, we've been eating "comida tipico" (or otherwise known as typical food) pretty much every meal. I'm a bit suspect to try the Italian or American food options on the menu (which is pretty much available at every restaurant) since I'm sure it will be very different from what we have in the states and... My wife and I came to this restaurant for dinner the first night we got into La Fortuna. It was actually within walking distance. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. They spoke English well enough to take our order. The food came out in a timely fashion and it tasted great. It wasn't that expensive overall either. I had... More
