We were told that this is a local favorite restaurant. We ate here twice since the food was delicious and the prices were great. We first tried the casado which comes with many sides and ends with rice pudding. Loved the tropical milkshakes too. Server Maria gave us warm hugs for returning, and encouraged us to stay to watch the... More

Three young women recommended this restaurant while I was traveling and as soon as I arrived in La Fortuna I headed over for a meal. The food was delicious, the staff were so nice and the price was amazing. Cross the road from the corner of the park where the taxi stand is located and head down half a block... More

The food and the service were fabulous. The ambience was nice. They were easily able to accommodate our family of ten. Don't miss this gem.

Not sure if you will find authentic Costa Rican fare at such an affordable as Soda Viquez. It was wonderful, staff was super friendly and gave us a warm hug as we were leaving. Its places like this that will keep me coming back to La Fortuna

Actually checked out Tripadvisor since we were in the area and knew nothing about the area and wanted a place to eat lunch. The reviews were right on. The food is good, the prices are good, the portions are big, the beer is cold and the service is good. They have all kinds of food so anyone should be able... More

The casado (full meal) here is a work of art. 2700 colones nets you a smorgasbord offering of legit restaurant quality goodness. Tons of free sides, rice pudding for desert (protip: slice up your plantains & eat them with rice pudding. Make sure you bring an extra pair of pantelones!) and deelicious garlic bread. Plus the waitress is an absolute... More

Went here for dinner because it was recommended by our hotel. So delicious! We both ordered the typical dinner, casado, one with fish and one bistec. It came with the meat plus rice, salad, pasta, black beans and a plantain. You will be full when you leave, and soooo reasonably priced! Our meals plus beer was $10 altogether!! Plus the... More

Food was good and the portions were huge for the price. Would definitely eat here again, even if I wasn't on a budget.

Found this through yelp, and the reviews were dead on accurate. This is a hole in the wall in the middle of La Fortuna, but very kind service, inexpensive, and delicious food. I had the garlic chicken with rice and beans and avocado along with a mango shake, and my husband had seafood soup and chicken and rice. Everything was... More

There's a reason this place gets busy as they have large portions. Very good value although I had to ask twice for drinks as it gets so busy. You'll get faster service if you show up earlier. Saw that even local Desafio staff went to eat there so there's a reason. Food taste was not mind blowing but sufficed for... More
