We ended up eating here twice, both times ordering casados. Between us we tried the chicken, fish, pork chop and pork. The casados were huge and filling with more variety than we had at other sodas. Meat of choice was served with black beans, rice, mashed yucca, a beet and egg salad, picadillo (like a vegetable and meat hash), green... More

We staid in La Forntuna for 7 days. We at at several places but this is the only place we went to more than once. Many of the other places in town were much more expensive and gave you a lot less. At Viquez the plate sizes were big and the prices were low. They also give you a really... More

We were looking for a local and not touristic place to eat. They suggested us from the hotel this Soda. The food was tasty, but not exceptional. One of the dishes was really really good (some Costa Rica Typical Tenderloin), the rest were ok. We were happy to try the local cuisine. We saw many tourists there, although we also... More

Went here based on Trip Advisor reviews. Very inexpensive meals of traditional Costa Rican fare. I had the beef casado and the my hubby had the chicken casado. Maybe $7 US a plate, large portions. The waitress was a tad rude to me about not eating my large plate of food, other than that it was good. Very strong coffee... More

Make sure you try the tamarind juice, it was delicious! The casados were great, especially the fish.

All food in Soda Viquez was delicious. They have a lot of choice and the service is very quick. Amazing food for a really cheaper price. I definitely recommend this restaurant, in your stay in La Fortuna.

It's a soda! Don't expect fancy foreign food... Out of around 10 sodas, this was definitely in the top 2 sodas that I ate at in last trip to Costa Rica.

We stayed in La Fortuna for four days and ate at Soda Viquez for three of the four days. The Casados are huge and full of delicious salads. You also get a small bowl of rice pudding for dessert - which is a nice touch. Great value!
