Excellent food

Great casado, customer service and value. One obtains a variety of foods on one plate to try that is quintessential Costa Rican. The sea bass is to die for.

Our guide, Santos from Jacamar, recommended Soda Viquez and I'm so glad we stopped. The food was very good, inexpensive ($49 for 4) and a great taste of the local flavor. The service was a little slow but the staff was friendly and in comparison to home (NJ/NY/Philly), it was almost refreshing to not be rushed out of the place... More

Came here twice in our 6 days in Arenal. Great tradtional meal. Others in our group had pasta and enjoyed it. Would go back again! Reasonable prices

Very generous platters with a variety of food such as meat, rice, beans, salad etc for a low price. The place is full of locals and tourists. Service is friendly. They speak limited English but really tried their best to explain what the various dishes were to us. The food was great, wish we had another day in Arenal so... More

I want to eat as much typical food as I can in Costa Rica. I love eating Casado so much more than crummy, expensive hotel food. We ate here a few times and had great meals. The waitress was very nice and let my boys choose what they wanted to eat from her serving area. Definitely recommend.

Recommended by a local, the Soda was crowded and warm, but the local experience and authentic food was very good. Make sure to try a shake with your meal.

My friends and I were looking for an authentic Costa Rican meal and one of our tour guides recommended Soda Viquez. It's a small place, nothing too fancy, but the food is AMAZING. We had the corvina epanizada (fried sea bass) it comes with yuca, mixed vegetables, rice and a salad, all of which complemented the fish extremely well. It... More
