After a fun group tour of a local chocolate plantation 12 of us went to Lava Lounge and had a blast. Great service easy menu and great vibe. Not much to add, the staff are chill and the food was delicious. We were having fun and clearly everyone around us was too.

First - be forewarned: La Fortuna shuts down at 10pm. We thought we'd enjoy some nightlife, Arenal-style, but you need to get your drink on fairly early in this region. Nevertheless, Lava Lounge is a fun, open-air, reggae-style (but not obnoxious) bar with a dining area and a few large TVs.

The food taste is great. They accept only cash and the food is a bit pricey for the ambience. There is not enough parking.

If you want to pretend like you're back in the states, go here. Don't get me wrong, the staff is so friendly and attentive; the ambiance itself is wonderful with the red lights, but the food is extremely overpriced and bland and I didn't feel like I was in Costa Rica anymore. We also didn't go when there was live... More

Nice place to stop for nachos and a couple of cold Imperials. Good go to and reasonably priced food.

Probably one of the better hangout spots in La Fortuna given the limited options. Centrally located, entertaining live music, decent food and good variety of drinks. Nice spot to chill and relax after long hike at the Arenal Volcano Park.

Would give this crap hole 0 if I could. What a joke. It looked incredibly douchey from the outside, but our football team was playing so we decided to suck it up. Terrible food. Mind blowingly bad service. Just all around pathetic. Couldn't give me rainbows and unicorns to return to this dump 👎👎👎 fourteen thumbs down.

Yummy nachos, good drinks, nice atmosphere. We were glad we went. Especially liked the coke can and juice bottle Christmas tree!

We visited Lava Lounge after meeting the owner Scott on his Costa Rica Cooking class the day before. The service was excellent and the food was some of the best we had during our two weeks in Costa Rica. Would certainly recommend a visit to Lava Lounge.
