Our cuisine features a contemporary concept, influenced by the classic European cuisine, Asia and Latin America, from an eloquent and modern perspective. Our steaks are locally produced, with very high farming standards; and our seafood and fish dishes are amongst the preferred by our guests, for whom our menu also offers many vegetarian options, made with ingredients which, in most cases, are harvested in our own farm, pesticide-free.

Get the Ceviche!!!

Excellent food to fit almost any budget!! On the higher end, but the ceviche was so delicious and fresh; very reasonably priced. Ice cold local beers for a very good price also. Also tried the tuna tare tare which comes in savory little cones- very tasty also. But seriously, get the ceviche. I miss... read more

We are here twice. Was good traditional Costa Rican food. Nothing spectacular, but food was good. Place is clean and service was good.

We stopped by for lunch one day. Hands down the best meal I had in Costa Rica, and one of the best of my life! I had the rich coconut soup, with seafood. Amazing!!!!!!

This was the best restaurant we ate at in La Fortuna. We felt like all of the other restaurants served the same things. Chicken with rice and beans. Don Rufino was actually recommended by our hotel staff. They had a variety of food to choose from, including steaks, pastas, seafood. We ate the hummus for an appetizer and it was... More

We can't stop thinking about the Cansada. Service was wonderful and our favorite meal in La Fortuna!

We had lunch there last week and the consensus (2 adults and 2 kids) was that this was the best food we ate during our two week trip in Costa Rica. The mushroom lasagne in particular was superb!

While the dinner was good--a note to those going to Costa Rica: 'Medium' is close to American Rare-Med Rare. Though, I never got sick from any steak in CR. Don Rufino's was recommended by several Ticos as a nice place to go. It was, but it was nothing too different from traditional American steakhouses with a little bit of Costa... More

Excellent food and service. The waitress was very helpful with the menu. Great beef. If there are three of you and you like meat then get the Lomito for three. Also as appetizer you must try the Patacones.

When my family and I visited La Fortuna 2 years ago, Don Rufino's was our favorite restaurant in Arenal. We loved it so much that we ate there more times than any other restaurant in the La Fortuna/Arenal area. After arriving in Arenal again 2 days ago we couldn't wait to return to Don Rufino's again for another wonderful meal... More

This is the best restaurant in La Fortuna. This was the second time we have dined here. We had the Grandma's Chicken, the #33 Cajun pasta with shrimp, mushroom and truffles lasagna, gazpacho, a cheeseburger and fries. The chicken is cooked in a banana leaf with a chocolate, coffee and tarragon sauce. Trust me it is amazing. It tastes kind... More
