Had rotisserie chicken delivered to my hotel--really delicious. Strangely, the "delivery" menu at the hotel is not for delivery, as I had to pay a taxi to deliver the food. Discovered most places here use taxis for delivery. The night before, I walked by after eating elsewhere, and the servers tried to convince me to come in and eat. I... More

Bit pricey but there's a good selection on the menu and their food was good. Service was also good. Enjoyed the traditional way of serving coffee - be sure to order a coffee so you can see this.

Upon being dropped off in La Fortuna, we asked our taxi driver where's a good place to eat. He recommended La Choza. The place isn't fancy....an outdoor eating area with picnic tables, but the food was really good and staff was friendly. There was something for everyone in my family. I had sirloin kabobs, husband and daughter had comida tipica... More

If you have just arrived after a long flight then you are hungry and you don't really care much about the prices - it didn't even cross our minds, we were starving! We noticed locals dine here too so it can't be a place just for tourists or too expensive. The service was warm and welcoming and the menu would... More

We live part of the year in Costa Rica and have eaten at La Choza several times. While it is pricey (if you have a few beers), we feel that the wood fired roast chicken is worth the price. La Fortuna is a tourist destination and any number of tour buses stop here during the day. The wait staff are... More

I ate at La Choza recently with a large group of friends. The menu choices were ample and are representative of typical Costa Rican food. Everyone around me seemed to enjoy their meal. Our waitress did a great job remembering who ordered what. This is a place where the wait staff wears a "typico" costume and the food is a... More

This place was wonderful if you wanted the typical Costa Rican dish. The display was beautiful and the atmosphere was also great.

We went here because we wanted the wood fired chicken...it was sold out. A shame but we decided to stay and try the other meals even though they were out of our budget. The meals were delicious but i would prefer to eat at a decent soda any day.

Kind of very very touristy, staff not too friendly, meal was 2x as much as a local "soda" and really not that good. Kind of a depressing place- and empty. It was recommended to us but.. I would pass!

A hamburger for $14.00 that was average at best. They were suppose to be a typical Costa Rican restaurant so that is why we chose to eat here. The menu had many choices but the prices were high. It was a clean restaurant but I did not see the value.
