Description: This restaurant had the best food and service of all the places where we ate in Costa Rica. Family owned and always on site. Cozy, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the casados, a local dish - delicious! I ate it in other restaurants but it couldn't be compared to Chubascos. I swear I could eat that every day. For dessert, try the home made apple pie (Costa Rican apples) and the arroz con leche. Ah, and do not forget to try their natural fruit drinks. Their coffee is pretty good too.

Found this great local spot here on TA and it was perfect for our group. Beautiful little garden which was nice for the kids to run around in before getting back on the road. Patacones and Casados were excellent. (The empanadas were the only things that were just ok, a bit greasy)

Nailed it in the customer service. I went today with my family to this restaurant after my visit to Poas. It was pretty packed and I believe due this situation they failed delivering our order. My lomiti was overcooked and my wife order a dish and she got something else. Because we were on a hurry we did not argue... More

The food here is delicious. The typical plate comes with a green bean omelet which sounded bizarre to me, but tasted great. It's one of my favorite things I ate. We ate here a couple of times while we were staying in the area, and it was great every time.

Probably the best place we ate in Costa Rica! The portion sizes are generous, the staff lovely, the food fresh and delicious (be sure to try an antojito!), and the prices quite reasonable. If you visit Poas, be sure to stop by for a hearty lunch or dinner!

Our first meal in CD on our way to Poasito after dealing with the crazy hustle of San Jose. The food was superb and the pace relaxed and tranquil. Prices were not outlandish. Portions are sizeable. Hummingbirds abound in this rental setting. Glad we stopped.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant one day when we were exploring a different way to Poas . It is set in a green paradise near the village of Frajanes on the way to Poas Volcano. As we are always looking for something new we decided to stop for lunch. The parking area was a garden of natural flowers and... More

Stopped here after a trip to Poas volcano. It was recommended to my Costa Rican cousins by a local. We arrived around 2 pm and it was packed, so we had a bit of a wait. Most of our group ordered the casado, which was a homey generous plate with rice, beans, a salad, fried plantains, two small tortillas, a... More

Very delicious typical local food. There is also a big adjacent garden for kids and adults. The service is friendly and prompt.

Stopped at Chubascos on the way down from Volcan Poas (had a rental car), it was about 4pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire time we were there. Excellent and friendly service. Importantly, we were with our 15 year old daughter with autism, and the staff was very accommodating to her needs and ways.... More
