Wayne's review

DePalm's is, in my view on of the top 5 restaurants in Tuscaloosa. It is very popular with the UA students. The best time for locals to visit is when UA is on break. Food is excellent, including their pizza, salads, and their traditional Italian dishes like lazagna and chicken and veal dishes.

I have eaten here several times over the years and have never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service always good. The gravy (sauce) is not too sweet and the pasta always cooked just right.

Very good dinning experience for a family. They do not take reservations so get there with your whole party. Was a great value and very fun dinner place in old town.

Perfect on all levels. Vibrant, delicious, great wait staff, great bar, great decor. We did the special of the day which was a carnivores lasagna. Could not have been more aptly named. Lots-o-meat, great sauce, great veggies. It all tasted fresh made as well. Service was superb. Just the right amount of beers on tap at the bar and a... More

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I've had the pizza and salads! You can't miss by going here!

Good but a bit pricey. The pasta special, spinach manicotti, was quite good. The seared pork loin & portabello risotto was very rich, too heavy really and would have been better with less olive oil. Real parmesan cheese instead of the powdered kind would have been appreciated. All in all, not a bad experience, but with a bit of tweaking... More

We stopped in for lunch on the recommendation of a family member and felt like we should be better dressed and should've brushed up on our manners. The staff didn't though, so we relaxed and enjoyed a great meal in a gem of an old restaurant. That combined with good service makes it one of our favorites in Tuscaloosa.

Was one of the best Italian meals I've had. Staff really helpful and will make your meal an enjoyable experience. The lasagna is fantastic! Right on the strip so you can walk to other places before or after. Ample parking no issue.

Old restaurant in a great old building. Food was good as was the atmosphere. A bit short on beers and waiter wasn't too knowledgeable. Still worth coming back to.

My wife and I travelled from Massachusetts to Birmingham for the holidays and made a special trip to Tuscaloosa just to eat here. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and wine makes this the best restaurant in the city. The antipasto platter and the bread pudding are must haves. They also have great espresso. We can't wait until we... More
