Friends and I dined at the Cypress Inn on the beautiful Black Warrior River. The view was amazing! We watched kyakers on the river. The wait staff were very attentive and kept coming to check on us. The food was beautifully presented but was just average. I asked for my steak to be medium rare and it was done. But... More

The food is very good, the location is fantastic. You need to try to get a table with a river view and than enjoy the food. Who likes Seafood will love the Cypress Inn but the Staeks are great as well.

The early evening sun on the Black Warrior River was outstanding and well worth the trip. The food was average, although the fried green tomatoes, the gumbo and the scallops were pretty good. The service was attentive, though things came out in a bit of a rush. All in all, it was a good experience and we'll be back.

We were evacuated for Hurricane Isaac, so we only had our best evacuation outfits (shorts and flip flops), but they welcomed us and treated us well. Truthfully, we were only slightly underdressed compared to others. They sat us at the windows and the view was wonderful, as we watched the end of daylight glimmer on the river. The food was... The food was average and a bit disappointing for the price. Not a lot of flavor and presentation was fair. The views of the river and surrounding grounds were spectacular, but a new chef may be in order,

Took my daughter here recently- she's a freshman at the university and it was her 18th birthday. I had booked a reservation through Open Table, and I would recommend doing that. We went on a Thursday night, and when we arrived, there were lots of people waiting for a table. We were seated promptly, and had a beautiful view of... More

The location is breath taking! Food is delicious. TIPS: don't plan to go during the busy hours, try their blackened tilapia and Greek salad. Try to be seated in their sun room area or the crows nest.

My husband and I ate here with friends while we were in Tuscaloosa visiting. The food was very good...I got the Cypress Inn Shrimp Pasta which was awesome and my husband enjoyed the fried catfish. The view was amazing though the porch was too full when we got there...next time we will definitely call ahead to reserve a seat on... More

Eight of us went during a very busy week so I was not surprised to see a full restaurant and friendly, but spotty, service. As happens in so many places, you get seated by someone then wait for a long time for the waiter. Take a tip from Denny's and have the hostess get the drinks ordered at the same... More

7/28 - My wife and I took her father and mother here before a concert. We all enjoyed the appetizers and entrees. The staff was excellent. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
