Visited recently for lunch with my son. It was a relatively quiet day at the restaurant and we were seated by the window with a beautiful river view. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu is varied and extensive, we both had catfish and it was delicious. The salad was also very fresh and a long list of dressings were... More

We had a wonderful dining experience at Cypress Inn! The evening we went was perfect for sitting on the deck overlooking the river. The service was excellent as was the food. I highly recommend the shrimp & grits. Prices were extremely reasonable. The atmosphere was great for a family, business dinner, or a romantic dinner. I will definitely go back... More

The food here was just average. We had calamari and spinach dip for starters. In both cases we have had better. Our entrees included Mahi Mahi and roast beef. The beef was O.K. A bit fatty. The Mahi Mahi had no taste. The side dishes were plentiful and pretty good. Very southern. Our server was excellent.

I had been over twenty years since the last time I dined at Cypress Inn. I had good memories, but had forgotten what a great dining experience it was. First, I have to clear up that the twenty years was not by choice. I left Tuscaloosa many years ago for military service and only get back for occasional visits. From... More

Right on the river, Cypress Inn has a beautiful view! Appetizers were delicious, but the main course was just above average. They give good portions. It would be good for date night.

Got an early start to TTown and lunched at the Cypress Inn alongside the Black Warrior River. Beautiful setting on a clear Friday. River was up but nowhere near the highwater marks of yesteryear displayed on the tough tree outside. No outside dining today but almost as good. Had the salmon and the red fish. Redfish a bit overcooked for... More

If ever in Tuscaloosa, Ala (home of the U. Of Ala.) it would be well worth your time to have dinner at The Cypress Inn. It is a bit rustic and a bit noisy with their hardwood floors, but the food is great; the portions are more than ample; prices are very reasonable; and the view as dark approaches is... More

There are many folks who rave about the Cypress Inn and love it but I have eaten there several times to find out that the food is not consistently good. The last time we dined there my steak was low quality and uneatable , I took 2 bites and could not eat it, the only thing I could eat was... More

The Cypress Inn is consistently good. The prices are what I consider medium as far as nice restaurants go. The view is lovely looking out at the river. I prefer to sit in the bar area. We eat here 3 to 4 times per month. Good appetizers, entrees, salads and deserts. You just can't go wrong since the have something... More

We went to celebrate my 60th birthday on Sundaym Aug 24th after church. We were seated in the bar area and it was warm..then it got hotter and was told the air was out! We were miserable and finally got moved...having to move our plates and everything into the main part of the restaurant. I have never experienced a problem... More
