This old house..........

While many find this a charming place, it is actually just an old house that really needs cleaning. The food comes out in parts, ex. you may get your meat, with the vegetables coming later. I quit eating there. Breakfast is no better than any where else that sells breakfast. I am sure it is... read more

The food was great. I had eggs over easy with grits, homemade biscuits& a blueberry pancake. It was great. That b'fast lasted me all day. So I could shop & sightsee UA & Tuscaloosa. Get there early b/c lots of locals. You may have to wait, it's in a house that was built in 1906. Very charming. Reasonably priced.

The Waysider is a must stop in Tuscaloosa for the serious food junkie. I have been to breakfast there before and it is great, lunch is just as good. A plentiful selection of veggies and entrees, and those biscuits....yum. The service was timely and friendly. A lot of memories on the wall to keep your attention until the food arrives.... More

Down home wonderful breakfast.you can't find better biscuits with butter and honey, along with the plantation smoked sausage. Whether its eggs, pancakes with sugar cured ham or country ham with red eye gravy, you can't go wrong. It's a tight squeeze as far as seating arrangements are concerned but it's worth every minute!

The waysider has very good food and never dissapoints , the restaurant is a old house and has cramped conditions so be aware its not comfortable for large groups, parking is around back side. I have been coming to the Waysider for over 25 years and even thru ownership change it's still good.

I love the Waysider! I know its run down and a bit grungy, but it is still my favorite breakfast place in T'town. I've been going there for over 20 years and love the small town, family atmosphere as well as the best little biscuits you'll ever put in your mouth! Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

Excellent food reasonably priced. We were looking for a local restaurant in Tuscaloosa while visiting our son. His roommate suggested Waysider - and we are glad we took his advice. Basic breakfast with excellent service. Parking is behind restaurant accessed from 15th Street before Greensboro.

We were passing through Tuscaloosa and this place is not far from the interstate. We drove right by it because it's very unassuming from the exterior with very few parking spaces in front. It is a cute old red house with a red sign and everything Alabama Roll Tide on the inside. The breakfast was quite good, service fast and... More

This place is small and doesn't look like much from the outside but really serves a tremendous traditional Southern breakfast with traditional Southern hospitality.
