The best breakfast you will ever eat in Tuscaloosa hands down. The biscuits are small, fluffy, and to die for. The other breakfast essentials taste just like your mama made them (if your mom could cook). Really great coffee and service. Reasonably (almost cheaply) priced. And the atmosphere is Roll Tide all the way.

Biscuits, sausage, fried potatoes and grits - all served in a cramped little house with sagging floors and crooked pictures on the walls. Waysider is a wonderful and classic local spot that should not be missed on a visit to Tuscaloosa! Definitely NOT your homogenized chain restaurant.

It was a typical home made kind of breakfast. The place is pretty cramped, but it was just my boyfriend and myself, so, we had room. We really enjoyed our meal, though it was not super memorable. Both of us are pretty adventurous food eaters, so, normal meals don't really stick out much for us.

Had breakfast here on a Wednesday morning. Friendly waitress. You can tell this is the place for locals and college students. Great value too. The biscuits were delicious, and we will go back. We have tried to eat here during game day, and you cannot get near the place! Love looking at all of the Bama football stuff on the... More

The Waysider is a Tuscaloosa landmark known for its southern style breakfast, particularly its biscuits and red-eye gravy. The restaurant is located in an old house that has been converted. The seating area is very limited and very tight when the place is full. However, the food is delicious and the coffee is wonderful. You will see locals and tourists... More

Before our long trek back to Ohio, we decided to stop in for a comforting breakfast.... HOLY TOLEDO--- $14 for an Omelet. Yes, I said $14.....No price on the menu, just says We Have Omelets. Sure, dumb us for not asking for some kind of pricing but really. When we brought it to the waitresses attention, she spoke w/the manager(her... More

I've been living in ttown for three years and just recently tried Waysider last Sunday. First of all, the atmosphere is precious and cozy with GREAT service. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The homemade biscuits are to die for. I would definitely recommend trying this place!

After all the hype from these reviews I expected more. The friendly service was at least a bright spot. The biscuits were ok, the bacon was good and the eggs pretty ok. (We ordered them medium and our expectation is yellow runny, white done. They were a bit more done than that). We ordered a side of sausage gravy for... More

The Waysider is a Tuscaloosa tradition -- by far the most famous breakfast in town. This is well deserved. A very good Southern breakfast. I have never had another meal here, although I believe they serve lunch.
