CLOSED Sadly this Tuscaloosa icon was destroyed in yet another post tornado land deal to throw condos up on every corner of our fair city. Maybe they will negotiate some deal to be on the ground floor, but I miss the lunch specials and the breakfast served anytime.

We pass through Tuscaloosa for family trips to Mississippi and we are making a point to stop and eat here as a break from now on. It's much better to eat here than grab fast food. I agree that the diner could use a little freshening up, but overall its very quick and the food is great. The banana pudding... More

This restaurant was recommended by the Super 8 desk clerk, who called it "good soul food." She was "right on!" The restaurant was welcoming, friendly, service timely, and price extremely reasonable, including deserts. If one is looking for table cloth and cloth napkins, this is not the place. However, if one is looking for good food served in a timely... More

the food is good, but the diner itself could use a little updating and freshening up. It's a great place for an old fashioned home cooked meal, lots of vegetable choices. Great place for college students to get a good meal at a good price.

Well, it's not a tablecloth & linen napkins place, but for a quick lunch, it's hard to beat. Same management and same menu as Northport Diner.

This is a local favorite. They have an extensive menu and lots of good food on it. Chicken pot pie, chicken gumbo, vegetable soup, burgers, and philly cheese steaks are all good. They have several meat and veggie selections every day and you're sure to find something for you. True southern cooking and service with a smile.

I have visited this store on multiple occasions (on average twice a week) before and felt that while the food is great and the service is average to good at least 90% of the time I would have a similar experience on my most recent visit despite other parts of the restaurant. Well as fate would have it, I decided... More

This is a good place to go if you have only 2 or 3 people you are eating with. If you go in with more than this, the food comes out lukewarm, as if it has been sitting under a warming lamp. We also noticed that most of the dishes had a high salt content.
