It's a small place and the tables are really really close together. Limited and descriptive menu. Service was extremely slow and my steak was more well done than medium rare. The rolls were cold and we watched the waiter take the dressing for our salads off our table and just put it on another table so I wouldn't be surprised... More

My family and I went out for my early birthday dinner to "Nicks-in-the-Sticks". We came around 5:30 that night thinking surely it shouldn't be too packed yet, we were wrong. We were put on the waiting list and went to the bar to wait. The atmosphere is small, old and simple. We waited so long we went through 3 drinks and... More

Nicks-in-the-Sticks as I fondly remember it, isn't really about high quality food, but rather, an overall experience. My mom ate here back in the 70's when she was in college at UA so she took me when I went there. Every time I've ever been there, it's always been a two hour wait. Impatient foodies probably would blow a gasket... More

I have never written a review for a restaurant before, but after eating here I can't help myself. After reading so many great reviews about this place, my boyfriend and I decided to go for supper. Well, I don't know if we just had a bad server or what, but I do not understand what is so great about Nick's.... More

We took our in laws here and no one left unhappy. The mixed drinks are dangerous and great. Everything is more than reasonably priced and the quality is such that you would gladly pay more for. The server was very friendly and attentive too.

Nicks is a short 10 minute drive out of tuscaloosa. It is in an old building, very small and few close tables (great for ease dropping). The steaks are small but thick. They come with a potato and bread- good to eat and a very fair price. Get the onion rings - great - very crispy.

I went to Nick's on Wednesday night with a group of four business companions. The whole experience was top notch. Sure the place is small, old and has wobbly tables, but the whole experience works. The wait staff is very normal, as if they are not interested in hustling tips, but assuring you are pleased with your decision. The beer... More

Yes this will seem extremely off putting the out of towners who have never been. It looks rough and is extremely cramped bit still so worth it. I have been several times but my highlight was my 21st bday years ago and I got to try a nickademus (sp?). It's an amazing drink that they are known for. I've never... More

I was recently in Tuscaloosa for a friends graduation and another friend suggested that we grab dinner at Nicks. Although we waited for about 30 minutes, it was well worth the wait. The steak was simple, seasoned just right and cooked perfect. Those little red drinks they serve in styro cups were also pretty nice !! I would suggest this... More

I've heard about Nick's in the Sticks for years and although it is about three miles from my home, I just never got there. So, for Mardi Gras, that last hurrah for 40 days, I figured it would be a good place to get a steak. It was surprisingly uncrowded at 8:15pm. One of the comments that kept reoccuring on-line... More
