I consider myself to be a BBQ connoisseur. I reserve a 5-star rating for places like Franklins or Killens back in Texas. I had the chance to eat here after a game weekend trip. First the service was great. Even with opposing team shirts on we were well taken care of and treated nicely. The recommendation from the staff was... More

The juiciest ,tastiest pork you have ever put in your mouth. Sliced or chopped . And the Ribs are great too. The food more than makes up for the plain dining area. You can buy the special sauce too.

I liked the wings but the ribs are great, I think the ribs are better than Dream Land. Get some dream land sauce ,then get your ribs at Archibalds which is the perfect combination for me. If you love ribs go here but dont forget the dream land sauce first.

A small kind of run down building with tasty home cooked food.the hot wings are fabulous with kind of a spicy but not too hot sauce. Tender ribs and the best fried catfish. Not impressed with the French fries, and the waitress admitted that the mashed potatoes weren't real, but everything else was good. Friendly fast service. Worth the drive... More

Archibald & Woodrow's BBQ is the real deal. The ribs are, without doubt, near perfect. Their sauce is nice - a hint of spice - but not overpowering. The chopped pork sandwich is heaven on earth. I also had the fried green tomatoes - again, near perfect. I have had BBQ from hundreds of places across the US - this... More

Really enjoyed our meal here. The ribs and pulled pork were lovely. The hot wings were ok (but not exactly hot), the beans and 'slaw were also pretty yum! Service was pleasant and both finding the place and parking were easy for a 'hole in the wall' kinda place. Definitely one to try.

I recently took my son to Tuscaloosa for freshman orientation and this place was recommended. What an amazing meal. This is a hole in the wall by definition with slow but efficient service. The meal was incredible with a vinegary sauce that I want more of. I can't wait to get back to Alabama and eat that amazing food.

Spent the night in Tuscaloosa on the way to New Orleans. Looking for some BBQ! After checking out reviews, we decided on Archibald & Woodrow's. The place is small inside, and a little rough-looking outside, but a great experience. It was not very crowded when we were there and the orders didn't take long at all, and the was very... More

In this case, you CAN judge a book by it's cover. They may have been having an off day, but the food was mediocre at best. We visited both locations - the first being what is photographed on the visittuscaloosa website. Strictly meat at that location. So, we wandered around town and found the other restaurant. Better. The baked beans... More
