I would recommend the filet over the fish. My co-workers got the fish and said that the fish was better the night before at the Cypress Inn, where we ate the night before. Everyone that ordered the filet was very happy with their choice. I was surprised that they did not have any beers on tap, for me, that is... More

Chucks has always been a great place for well-made food. Even though it's a little pricey, the quality is worth it. The atmosphere and wait staff are fabulous. Definitely order the Screamin' O or the Screamin' Orgasm, it's not on the menu but still available. It's a sushi roll that's the best I've ever tried. I would recommend chucks to... More

Brick oven pizza undercooked because I think they were rushing as it was incredibly busy. Filet mignon cooked perfectly, as was pork chop. Braised beef ribs tender and great flavor - could have trimmed a bit more fat off but hard to do with short ribs. The owners know how to run a restaurant. Great vibe and love that it's... More

Again on the road leaving Charleston SC this morning. Traveled to Tuscaloosa on my way to Eutah for business. Remembered they had great local restaurants downtown and had dinner at Chuck's seafood restaurant. I waited a little longer than should have (45 min for dinner). Dinner great but they charged an extra $3 for risotto. The meal was $35 caught... More

We always go to Chucks for special events like family birthdays. We enjoys their signature Grouper entree as well as Sushi. The bar is always a lively place with the Sushi bar serving at full steam. Delicious, fresh salads with a variety of different appetizers..

When Chuck's first opened it was one of the top four restaurants in Tuscaloosa. It has slowly slipped to just fair. I rarely go to Chuck's anymore. BUT their sister restaurant, FIVE, is excellent. Try it.

I understand that the sushi is good here. If you like sushi, perhaps you should check it out. My experience was awful. We waited forever to sit at a cramped, uncomfortable table. Service was slow and borderline rude. The fish was expensive, cold, and tasted off. This place is expensive for Tuscaloosa. It is NOT the best fine dining restaurant... More

Chuck's Fish has great sushi and I love the atmosphere. Chuck's is also at a great location in downtown Tuscaloosa. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area!

I would say Chuck's is at the top of the list on ambiance in Tuscaloosa. Great wine list and if you sit upstairs at the sushi bar you will not be disappointed. My opinion overall is that this restaurant is overrated due to their prices. The food is good but not my first choice in town.
