Wonderful food

Stopped for early dinner. Raw oysters (Bon Secour LA) were delicious market price. Gumbo was full of seafood, roux was thin. Red beans and rice was juicy like I like it. Not too spicy that you can't eat it. Great service.

Unlike Felix's down the road, Ed's takes pains to create a homey atmosphere. Nothing pretentious here. Basic tablecloths on simple tables but still the same stunning vista of Mobile Bay. The food is more straight-forward as well. All meals begin with complimentary cole slaw--the best I've ever had. The entrees are certainly seafood oriented but still simpler fare. Po boys,... More

We came here when passing through Mobile because it was recommended by by a local. The place sits out over the water, giving you good view of the bay. A few notches above a shack, the worn and very informal setting was just fine with us. We had a window seat and enjoyed the view. My wife had the lunch... More

Eaten here on several occasions, each time is always same quality of food and service. A very good value for the dollar spent here in this restaurant. There are several great restaurants in this area which I also visit. Of the two or three restaurants in the area I eat at and I would rate this in the top three... More

We visited this restaurant on 01/10/15 after having a bad experience at a local restaurant in Gulf Shores the previous evening. We (and another couple) are fulltime RVers and wanted to try the local flair. Well, WE FOUND IT! We had lunch at Ed's and everything... I mean everything was awesome, including the service. We ordered the fish platter, fried... More

So this place was stopped at on a whim, but I ended up buying t-shirts for the two of us - that's how impressed I was with the place. First of all, the service was excellent. Attentive but not too attentive, if you know what I mean. Second, the food was delicious. We had the fried shrimp and fried fish... More

We eat here at least once during each visit to Mobile. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The coleslaw the bring as the free appetizer is some of the best I've eaten. I'm not always a fan of fried seafood since I find fried "any kind of seafood" tastes like every other fried seafood (ie, a fried shrimp tastes... More

First off I'd like to say the staff was very friendly, I will definitely give them that much. However, the service was slow, they got our order mixed up, and they charged us for food we never even ordered (or received.) They did make it right, but it just meant we had to wait even longer, and we'd already waited... More

Gave this place a try, based on the reviews and word of mouth from a couple of guys that visit the place I work on occassion, All I can say is, this is not my kind of place. This is just over salted, greasy fried seafood. To be honest, I am not much of a fried food eater of any... More

Usually eat here every time I visit Mobile. Most recent visit was with a very large group, and the size of the party probably influenced the quality of the food. Overall, I prefer this restaurant to other locations on the Causeway. The seafood is normally very fresh, and always tasty. Service is always good with typically fast service. However, this... More
