YUMM-O!

Went for Mother's Day. Although the restaurant advertises Flame Grilled Oysters, there were no oysters on the "Oyster Cam" the duration of our visit. Never the less, my husband and I enjoyed our meal.

The original Oyster House has always been the place to go for delicious food.. The only drawback for the Mobile/Spanish Fort location was a lack of some items offered in Gulf Shores. That has been rectified with items available at both places like my favorite Shrimp Au gratin. It's shrimp, cheese and butter. Nuff said. accompanied by the very tasty... More

Husband and I were passing through from Texas to Florida and made Mobil/East Dauphine are stopping point. After reading all the glorious reviews decided Original Oyster House was to be our choice for dinner. Let me say, dinner was lackluster. Stuffed shrimp very small. My fish was overcooked and dry. And the chargrilled oysters were drowning in butter. Waitress was... More

Rubber Biscuits. Cold, rubber biscuits (found at the bottom of a basket on the salad bar). A perfect accompaniment to the rubber fish in a basket. If Gorton's can make a frozen fish stick with flaky white meat, there's no reason OOH has to serve grey rubbery fried fish. And there's no truth in advertising since the Pacific Rim Sutchi... More

I treated some friends to dinner while there and they chose this establishment. I have not dined there before but it was close to where I was working that week. Started off with the server Kenzie who was just wonderful to have as a server. She made excellent suggestions and was diligent about water refills. My friend made a comment... More

My wife and I have never been dissatisfied with Original Oyster House. They have a large selection of wonderful entrees with moderate prices. I like the shrimp and grits, stuffed shrimp, and grilled mahi mahi. The service is always good and customers do not have to wait a long time after the enter; however, on holidays, special occasions, and Sunday... More

We picked this restaurant per a recommendation and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was delicious and there were so many choices we had a hard time making a decision. They are very busy but our wait was not long and the servers were very prompt. U highly recommend the grilled oysters, the gumbo, and the crab legs. Everything... More

No exaggeration! Our waiter, Justin, was perfect. Attentive but not doting or annoying. We started with fire grilled oysters with garlic bread for "soppin". It was our first experience with oysters prepared this way and it was very good. Entree was blackened shrimp, cheese grits, greens and hush puppies. OH MY GOODNESS! Every single bite was so succulent! We will... More

Once you try the fire grilled oysters, you'll wish you had ordered another dozen--and this coming from a guy who doesn't really like oysters.

We always take visitors to our area here for some authentic seafood and a beautiful view of the water. Our group of 7 was seated promptly and service was excellent. The food was delivered quickly and was piping hot. Prices are very reasonable. You won't go wrong if you eat here!
