We ate at the Oyster House with our four children. It was delicious! There was no wait for a table when we got there but there is a little playground underneath the restaurant for the kids to play on if you do have to wait. I ordered fried shrimp and it was some of the best I've ever had. My... More

Some restaurants simply puzzle me. This place advertises that it has been in business since 1983. The parking lot was packed on a Tuesday night so it seemed like a safe bet. We were told there was a half hour wait but 5 minuted later the hostess came to show us our table. Since this is an oyster house I... More

I went here for one thing -- oysters on the half shell, and I was not disappointed. They were incredible. Fresh, slightly salty, just what I was looking for. A great quick lunch on a trip to the Gulf Coast. The server was very efficient and professional.

The food was fantastic. We were very pleased with our service and the food quantity, quality, and taste. We can't wait until Mardi Gras 2015 to visit The Original Oyster House again. It was one of the trip highlights for us.

The man vs food platter was very good and man won that day. Kids loved looking out over the water and seeing the gators and air boats. Service was top notch. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in the area.

Wife and I went to OOH today for our 22nd anniversary. Got there early to get a good table in the bar area, our server Amy came over brought menus and took our drink orders. Talk about service with a smile, on a scale of 1 to 10, Amy was a 20, fantastic personality, beautiful smile, great sense of humor,... More

I had the Jubilee platter and it was absolutely awesome! The atmosphere was fun and the setting was perfect out on the causeway.

Much better than average salad bar. Wait staff can have their off days, curiously more often when it's not busy. Lots of fun with the DIY cocktail sauce. Unless it's one of those days when the shrimps taste of freezer burn. Unquestionably the best item on the menu: fire grilled oysters. Unquestionably the item not to bother with: 'Key lime... More

We had dinner here on July 1. While we did have to wait about 15 minutes, the wait was not too bad and we were seated by a window overlooking the parking lot with some bay view. Our waitress was arrived quickly and we very attentive. The four of us all ordered friend shrimp with different sides. The shrimp were... More

We came here after touring the Battleship. We got a table overlooking the dock/bay and it was relaxing to watch the fishermen float by. The crab claws were excellent. If you haven't had crab claws in the South, you must try them. I have not found them outside the South yet so I fill up when I'm home. We had... More
