As with the rest of Selma, Tally ho also has an interesting history dating back to the early 19 century. A quaint little local staple, the food will warm the senses and the staff will make you feel nice and comfortable. A friendly young owner-couple, keeps the tradition alive in the old Tally ho house.

Great crab claws and the St. George entree was great. Thanks for such great customer service. The mix drinks were good also. What i disliked was the lights were to low inside the place. It's romantic inside but i still like to see what eating.

As Selma residents we always try to support local businesses. Unfortunately tonight we were neglected for 40 minutes. They seated us and did not return to our table. We watched another table in the room order, eat appetizers, and get their entrees. We left frustrated and are headed to Montgomery now.

In the TripAdvisor app, this restaurant is tagged as cajun/creole cuisine. I don't know who's error this is, but it's not. They do serve gumbo, but that's not at all what this place is about. It's Selma's fine dining restaurant (probably the only one, I'd guess, but don't know). A subdued and elegant atmosphere, whose customers' favorite dishes are their... More

We had the gulf shrimp and fried oysters served by servers with a great sense of humor and welcoming nature - one guy even gave us tourist information as we left the restaurant. Along with our meal we got friendly conversation from the locals at three tables around us! It was a fun evening.

It's a big weekend in Selma with the commemoration of the March 1965 tragic walk to Montgomery that ended at the bridge. This restaurant is recommended but is a little out of town. It's is worth the trip. The food, staff and setting are excellent. Hopefully someday they can have a second place in the midst of the redevelopment downtown.... More

When the wife and I travel from our home in Minnesota to our farm in Marion, Alabama, we always look forward to the 24 mile drive to Selma to dine at the Tally Ho restaurant. The new owners of the establishment is a young energetic and friendly couple that have continued the tradition of great food and service to its... More
