Good food

Stopped in here for lunch during our visit to Selma. Had spotted the Medical Center location during a previous visit two weeks earlier. Popular with locals. Service was friendly and fast. Spouse and I shared the pulled pork dinner with two sides (French fries and fried okra). Pork was good, but... read more

On a road trip to a family wedding, we figured out that by the time we reached our stop-over in Montgomery AL it would be so late that most places might be closed. So, we decided to try for a good place to eat in Selma. Consulting various internet sites (including Tripadvisor), we turned up several possibilities. One was Lannie's... More

My husband and I went here for lunch, because it's right in the neighborhood we just relocated to, and I went here wanting a bbq pull pork sandwich. There was no to go menus and the menu on the wall did not specify what kind of bbq they're selling- it just said bbq sandwich. I asked the man what kinda... More

I was in Selma for the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday." After the President's speech, my friend from Selma suggested we go to Lannie's for dinner. I think everyone else who had been downtown for the event was there. It was a very long line, but waiting was well worth it -- both in terms of quality of food and... More

Food was amazing! The service was very slow. Next time I'll get it to go. I had the pulled pork, stew and baked beans. My friend had the corn nuggets, spare ribs and stew.

If you don't like vinegar tasting BBQ, don't eat here. I liked it, but others in my group didn't. Several great side choices liked fried corn and fried green tomatoes. They have two locations we were told. The ribs I had were super tender.

The BBQ beef was very fatty and not well cooked. The BBQ pork was....ok. Corn on cob tasted old, not fresh. Very disappointed, since reviews rated it high. Don't waste your time or money!

We really enjoyed the good Southern, home-cooked food here…pulled BBQ, BBQ ribs, Southern style potato salad, collard greens, fried green tomatoes, and okra. We'd definitely go again for the food. The people were very friendly but the service was very, very slow. It wasn't really the server's fault…only 1 server was working and there was a constant stream of folks... More

We had trouble finding somewhere to have lunch near historic Selma. Not much going on downtown! Thanks to TripAdvisor we found this place. Seems really popular with locals and the food and service were pretty good. The servings are huge! I really liked the sauce - not too sweet, not too mustardy, just right!

Not too happy about the sides but the bbq itself was great! Loved the sauce and the bbq didn't make my bun soggy which is a plus!
