Try the tomato pie

Carliles has a pretty nice looking buffet and salad bar but we opted for a hickory tater and wife had a BBQ salad. We also had the tomato pie as an appetizer. Our first trip but the wait staff did a great job and super friendly. There was a large private gathering at the time yet the extra... read more

We stopped in before checking into our hotel which was just a short distance away. The service was splendid. The tomato pie was to die for. Loved it. A must try. Their tomato pie we discovered was award winning. Highly recommended. On Sunday the restaurant was full; a good testament.

Been to Carlile's many times and have had mixed experiences. Sometimes we have really enjoyed the food and sometimes not so much. This has been both with the buffet and menu items. The service and staff are always friendly and very good. The prices are very reasonable.

I live in the area and have visited Carlile's several time (thinking the food would get better) and the food not very good. The staff is very nice but he dining room is cold and very loud. The up side is they have a private room that can be reserved for private parties.

Carlile's has been around in Scottsboro for many years. The second generation now run it. If you like good southern cooking this is the place to go. Each evening they have a dinner buffet that features three meats and veggies. The salad bar is well stocked and excellent. Their Sunday Buffet is a must. The current owners won best in... More

We had the buffet and every thing was very good. Service was good. Prices were very reasonable. We have had friends eat here and got mixed reviews and trip advisor also had mixed reviews so we didn't know what to expect. We enjoyed the food, which was good, and a salad bar with a lot of choices. Everyone was real... More

We went to Scottsboro, Al to spend the day. That evening we decided to look for a place to eat. We came across Carlile's Restaurant. It was the night of the SEC Championship game. The waitress told us they did not put out the food bar but gave us some recommendations. She was dead on with her recommendations. The Creek... More

We stopped at Carlile's Restaurant for an early dinner. The tomato pie... ahhhhh... so so rich and good. You gotta eat one! Most of our group decided to do the buffet. The salad bar was very fresh with plenty of options. The hot bar included roast beef, fried chicken, beans, greens, and cobbler among other options. Everything had lots of... More

I can't believe I've been coming here all this time and never ventured to Carlile's until today. Thank you Hillary for the recommendation. I loved the tomato pie and the BLT with fried green tomato! Sweet tea was spot on. They serve a buffet that I may try in the future but I was very happy with my selections today.... More
