I was recently in Scottsboro visiting a friend for his 40th birthday and we had dinner and a birthday party at the Docks. I am always interested to read through the negative reviews of places to see why people hated it. I am usually surprised as my experience often differs from others. I tend to throw out the worst reviews... More

Very attentive staff. Great views, highly recommended the shrimp and grits or blackened seared scallops.

I'm from Atlanta, and have to travel to Scottsboro every now and again for work. I look forward to this trip on Thursday nights because I ALWAYS eat at The Docks. It is a cute, tiny place on the lake w/ a great, local atmosphere that I just adore. On Thursday nights, they have a local musician that plays a... More

Influences akin to an upscale gulf coast hot spot, juxtaposed with views of smoky vistas, conjure up a hint of a chill to the soft southern breezes coming off the water. The meal starts with an extensive list of beers that are complimented by the knowledge of the servers inclusion of special ipa's that awaken the beer snob in all... More

The area has much to offer - lake, golf, camping, cabins, etc. The restaurant is on the lake with a beach, dock for waterborne guests, outdoor and indoor dining. Food was good, tasty and plentiful; however, there is not any local seafood that is worth writing home about. WARNING: If you go during the summer time take your bug spray... More

I ordered the Thai pork it was dry and the sauce was nasty grits were dry and baby spinach had no taste. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits the girts were the same as what was on my plate. The soup and gumbo were bland and came out in a coffee cup. Did not eat the pork sent it... More

If traveling by water on the Tennessee River you will find this restaurant at the Goose Pond Colony Resort Marina. It is just off the main channel, a cut through the heavy milfoil. Water depth is sufficient for larger water craft. The resort features a golf course and full service marina. The restaurant could be a challenge for those with... More

If I spent a lot of time in the Scottsboro area, I haven't a doubt that I would be a regular at this place. The water view is great (assuming it's not overcast as it was for us) and if there is live music playing on the deck (as there was when we visited) you're in for a treat. Even... More

Oh my goodness...for those of you that think GRITS means "girls raised in the South" are you ever mistaken! Never having tasted, nor wanting to have girts I figured if ever I was going to taste girts, this would be the place since Shrimp and Grits is the speciality dish. We chose to sit inside since it was humid and... More

The crab cake sandwich was great, the shrimp po- boy was excellent, and The steak was good. The sunset awesome! The wait was too long without a buzzer. But you could sit outside and enjoy the water view and the action of the boats going by.
