This is a very traditional Chinese restuarant. The environment is nice and the service is very nice. It is a great option for travelers who want to exprience tradiotnal chinese food without having too many surprises.

Most expats tend to like this restaurant-myself being one. It is fairly expensive but the quality is top notch. It serves mostly regional Shanghai cuisine with some southern dishes. It has very fresh sashimi. I've been to this restaurant (although different locations) numerous times; the food and service was consistently good.

good interior design (western standard) offering traditional Shanghai-ese cuisine. Menu with pictures which make it easy for foreigners. It's a restaurant group so no doggy billing/ overcharge.

We visited the store located within WH Ming Hotel Shanghai in Yangpu District during our recent visit to Shanghai. They offer typically high quality Shanghai-style dishes with reasonable prices. The layout of each dish was simple, clean and impressive; and the food was very delicious. It should be a great place for family and friends to dine out.

The dumplings are divine! The service is good. It is a little "high end" compared to a lot of restaurants but well worth the visit and money. The food is traditional Shanghainese, so you get to experience a lot of good fresh traditional dishes. It seems to be very popular with locals as well, which is always a good indicator.... More

Xiao Nan Guo has the best xiao long bao - the little pork dumplings filled with scalding hot broth and a tender morsel of meat - in town.

Xiao Nan Guo has a number of branches..but the food is consistently good. Primarily Shangainese, the price is a little above average, but the quality is good. Try the many traditional appetizers (ma lan tou with beancurd, tofu with century egg, pickled cucumber...) and of course, the pig trotter that melts in your mouth. I think it's a good place... More

I've eaten at this restaurant in different locations around Shanghai & have always enjoyed the good food. There are several branches in the city - if you are staying in a hotel, just ask the concierge to help you locate the one nearest to your hotel.
