Elegance. The height of luxury and attention overlooking the Bund and the skyline of Shanghai. The ultimate in food, atmospher and service is The House of Roosevelt. We were visiting from America and this dining experience topped our stay in China. The wine list is astounding and we were lucky enough to be granted a tour of the wine cellar.... More

Dear Michael U, Thank you very much for your comments and appreciation of our view, food, wine and service. Our wine cellar has the largest selection in mainland China and our award-winning wine list possesses both rich breadth of appellations and refined depth in vintages. I am glad that my colleague did a great job showing our hospitality and that... More

We took a group for a business dinner here and thought the views across the Bund were stunning. However the food is very bland - a sort of Western modern / fusion menu and very overpriced. The menu is also overlong and exhausting to navigate. Much worse than the food though, was the service. We clearly had money to spend,... More

I've been here twice. Food I had both time was good but not up to par with the price. Penne pasta was a bit too el dente for my taste. Some of the veggies in the veggie salad were a bit tough to cut. Try to avoid the last row of seats, with vie of the bund partially blocked. The... More

A friend took us up to Roosevelt Sky Bar overlooking but Bund. We prefer to have a late nite coffee but only wine and drinks are served in the late night. The red wine was just right for the day. When in Shanghai and you want to leave the crowds down on the Bund, just take a short walk up... More

While the view is amazing, the service was horrible. The food was also very disappointing- it wasn't bad, just not worth how much it cost. I found a hair in my entree and they didn't offer to comp it or anything. There are other places on the Bund with the same view and much better food and service.

Dear Alex M, We have already looked into this matter , and shall deeply apologize for your bad experience in our restaurant. Our staff politely asked you if you wanted to change other dish, and you said no. After dinner, we voided all your bill on that night, gave you and your friends free desserts and offered drinks and coffee.... More

"The House of Roosevelt is the most recent incarnation of the Bund 27 building. In the past, it's been the HQ of British trading firm/opium sellers Jardine Matheson, the offices of the Japanese Navy intelligence, and the Shanghai Foreign Trade Commission. Now, purchased by the American Roosevelt family, it's been turned into the city's largest wine cellar, a bistro, a... More

We arranged to meet a friend of ours from home at this 9th-floor (10th-floor?) bar for a drink (not dinner) while she was in Shanghai for work. The views are simply stunning looking across from the Bund at a wall of lit, uniquely-shaped skyscrapers including the stunning Oriental Pearl Tower of which Shanghai should be very proud. I would rate... More

The service not up yo international standard, some of the waiters are not speaking even one word of English, the others obviously hate the guest who doesn't spend a fortune like me. Meat overlooked and not one asks how my meal had been done, warm appetizer was served when it's cold. When my first review got posted a month ago... More

Not worth the money, but the deco is amazing. Food was overly salty and over priced. You could get something decent in the city. So if you are staying nearby, dont be afraid to venture accross the river to pudong near the pearl for better eats

Amazing view across the river of beautiful Shanghai lighted skyscrapers. The waiter was very good, spoke good English. The food was superb. Go upstairs to a large bar for after dinner drinks. This property was once owned by the Roosevelt family (yes, Teddy, FDR, etc.). The restaurant still is partially owned by the family.
