Popular for a good reason

Haidilao is perpetually difficult to get a seat at, despite their numerous branches and huge venues. No matter if it's 5pm or 4am. But it only takes one visit to understand why it's so popular... while you're waiting for a seat you're served drinks and snacks, there's ladies who can give you a... read more

A fantastic restaurant! Best service ever and you have to order noodles just to see the noodle show! Food is excellent and if you like spicy hotpot it's the place to come. Highly recommend it!

We ordered one beef, one lamb, few vegetables, the pork meatball, and chef's recommendation hand-scooped fish puree. I and boyfriend both got sick the day after, in particular the stomach.

Hai de Lao has consistently good restaurants in their chain of Hot pot restaurants. The shanghai location is virtually indistinguishable from the Beijing and Qingdao locations. The food and soup is consistently good, the service is good with energetic and well trained staff. You can always depend on this restaurant for a good meal for one or a hundred. To... More

The excellent experience started when we first step into the restaurant. We were lead to the waiting desk by the a kitchen staff, as he spotted us standing at their back door looking lost. Immediately, we were served and greeted by front dest staff, getting us a waiting ticket, followed by free serving of snacks and drinks. Food quality was... More

The first time I ate duckfeet and beef stomach. In the mix of all the rest, beef, fish, seafood and veggies in great spicy sauces you will be happy you went. Crowdy place that you won't easily forget.

Being from Texas, I was a little surprised that the food around Shanghai and Beijing were generally not very spicy. So my brother (who lives in Shanghai) took me here and showed me SPICY! I love spicy and my mouth was completely on fire!!! We had the Szechuan hot pot with beef and lamb. The meat was very fresh. We... More

What a fabulous time. We were really well looked after, even gave us a private room for our large group with personal waitress, (tong) who is fabulous. Superb meal and good value.

The price for Hai Di Lao in shanghai is great. Food portion is huge ,go for Wafu beef only R70 and slice pork at R38, lovely mushroom soup base. Good service as usually. We ate to our heart content as we have Hai Di Lao in Sg however the price is double with smaller portion. Order 7 dishes with drinks... More
