Ordered: Hyderabadi Biryani, Aloo Gobi, Garlic Nann, Masala Chai (what could possibly go wrong with this selection?) + Artfully decorated dining place + Dishes were beautiful to look at - Service was lacklustre, not one staff had a smile on his/her face - Had to compete with other diners for staff attention - Food did not taste half as good... My family and I visited this restaurant for dinner. It's pretty close to Xintiandi - short taxi ride. We got a table quickly and among other dishes had the Daal Makhani. This was just finger-licking good. Rest of the food was really good too. Service was with a smile. Thanks for a lovely dinner!

If you need to get real Indian food and Punjabi food with reasonable spice than go for this restaurant. Help select menu for your Chinese host. in the heart of china and 20 minute walk from peoples square station.

I have been a frequent visitor to Masala art as their food is quite good and the restaurant has a nice and friendly feel. However of late I have resorted to ordering the food through Sherpas as I have not had very good experience with their staff especially the attitude of their Restaurant Manager.. They could do simply change the... More

I was here as part of a business dinner meeting... I usually prefer local food during my travels, but the Indian food I had here is much much better than even that we get in India... Such authentic taste and flavour... Chicken , fish , veggies everything so perfectly seasoned... A must visit place for every Indian visiting shanghai

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
