The best thing about this all you can eat restaurant is that it's truly a restaurant - not a buffet. Food made to order - all perfect. Excellent sashimi - very fresh, no watery "previously frozen" taste. A nice surprise - we will definitely return. Service was perfect, the owner is a delight. I made a reservation for a large... What's not to love? "All you can eat and drink" here includes sushi, hibachi grill items, and liquor for 280 yuan.

The greatest thing about the restaurant is the value you receive for the money! Food is really good, for the sushi as well as all freshly made teppanyaki dishes, which are prepared on the grill right in front of you. Make sure you go for the flamed version of the fried banana for the ending, to receive a little show... More

While all other all-you-can-eat/drink Japanese places have faltered in quality and ultimately failed, this oldie has remained strong with quality food, prompt, service, and lively atmosphere you come to expect for these places. I suggest making a trip here if in Shanghai and craving copious amounts of Japanese food.

All you can eat and drink for around 225RMB! Great food and top quality sushi. When making a reservation, ask to be seated at one of the chefs tables which can be great fun. Will definitely come back again next time in Shanghai!

All you can eat is offered (both with alcohol and without), tempting overeating ;-) But the food was really good (had mostly sushi) and the hot dishes are prepared on hot plate right at the table. Wow-effect when the fried banana goes up in flames. Service was quick, good English. If all then they were a bit too attentive, standing... More

Wasn't very easy to find a reasonably priced all-you-can-eat teppanyaki restaurant serving sushi and sashimi too so ended up in Gintei. At 220 RMB per person incl. all beer and sake, it certainly offered value for money: salmon and tuna sashimi were very fresh and the scallops and tenderloin beef melted in the mouth. The only downside was that they... More

It's a popular all you can eat teppanyaki, which offer a bit better service and quality of the food than the generic Tairyo style teppanyakis all over Shanghai. Been there several times over the years, it's consistent and always full, so you need a reservation, especially if it's weekend and/or a larger group.

Went to this place with some colleagues for leisurely dinner. Overall good return for the money. All you can eat and drink option is 220RMB per person, including beer, sake etc. The service is not most attentive and speedy, but on a ok level. if you want to enjoy the seats in from of the chefs, looking at them preparing...
