Had a great time with friends.

Very nice for quality casual dining. Great margaritas and good selection for vegetarians. We have been there a few times with friends. Pistolera is a slightly over-priced Western expat restaurant in the tony Jin Qiao neighborhood of Pudong, Shanghai, China. The food is good quality, using white meat chicken, etc. but the quantity is small for its large price tag. Only 1 small bowl of chips per table - even if you have 6 people at your table! That being said, it... More

Went here with some friends in the evening for food/drink/music and had a great time. The food helpings are plentiful and if you fancy cocktails and Mexican beers this is the place to be. The band was lively and salsa dancing is a must, feel free join in

It is a great looking restaurant with a signature tequila bar. A good price on the taco lunch special BUT the beef tasted rather gamey! I immediately spit it out so that I wouldn't get the standard 'Shanghai Trots' that are endemic in Chinese restaurants.

Good food and great ambience: The homestyle beef-and-vegetable stew known as cocido, and the tortilla soup, in which shredded chicken and fried tortilla strips are served in thick chicken broth along with tomatoes and chipotle chili. Pistolera has a way with chilies - signature chili dishes start from a simple chili bowl to a chili Sonora hot dog to a... More

Pistolera is a lovely break for Western business travelers who have had several traditional spinning table dinners and want a break with a menu from which they can select familiar Mexican dishes. The millionaire margarita is a must have and at happy hour can be had for 100 RMB per pitcher less. The meals are all very good with six... More

This is my go-to for my Mexican fix ever since I first encountered it. The service is always delightful, and their margaritas are the best I've had in Shanghai. My favorite dish is the chili for which the chef of this restaurant has won many awards, including the Shanghai Chili cook-off! And the chili comes with homemade Mexican tostadas which... More

Went here while on business because it was recommended for Mexican and we were in need of something other than Chinese Food. We had some Shrimp Tacos which were outstanding, the Burrito is good and the Chicken Tacos are great. The price is pretty good as well. Very nice change of pace area which the locals call Foreigner Street.

We had the prawn stuffed peppers (sppiiccccyyy!) the tuna salad and the pork burrito, followed by churros. We don't usually eat so much for two of us, so that says the food was delicious. Only minor comments that the waitress, while attentive, was a bit pushy for our tastes.... had barely finished my drink before she's outright asking me if... More

I stopped into Pistolera on a recent trip to Shanghai and was not disappointed. The chips and salsa were delicious and the Carne Asada tacos I got had a great authentic flavor. The food came out super fast, which was helpful since I was on a tight schedule. All told I spent 100 RMB for me meal, largely due to... More
