Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul Pairet. A modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Hours: Dinner: 5:30pm to 10:30pm (Monday to Sunday); Late Night Supper: 11:00pm to 2:00am (Thursday to Saturday)Accolades: No.43 in 2013 & No. 76 in 2014 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants & 51-100 list; No.7 in 2013 & No.11 in 2014 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

Teething problems after the re-opening , but still very enjoyable

The restaurant had just reopened after a renovation and the kitchen was showing signs of problems in the kitchen , with long gaps in the delivery of courses and inconsistencies in the quality of the cooking . A side dish of the signature pommes dauphinoise with truffle was so overcooked that we... read more

I've eaten at Mr. And Mrs. Bund several times during my two years in Shanghai and I was very much looking forward to seeing it after it's touted renovation. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The new decor, which I would describe as Haussman meets Steam Punk was not so vastly different from before, however, the lighting changed for the... More

We've been MMB many times in the past and suddenly felt very disappoint after the renovation. The service was not as good as usual, many new faces who's hovering around but doesn't know what to do. We asked for help for the wine, and the French man came and only talked about wine with a "cru", we just need something... More

We were excited to dine at this restaurant. Service was just horrible. Our second course came out with our first course, as it was very clear we were being pushed. Also some of the worse wine I have ever received at a restaurant. I think the bottles were re-corked and filled. Old wines with clean corks. The Red Burgundy was... More

We haven't had much expectations when we decided to book a table at Mr. & Ms. Bund. So it was even more astonishing when we discovered how delicate, creative as well as high-class the evening turned out to be! The quality of the products, the innovative ideas of Paul Pairet and his team and the amazing view over the Bund... More

unprofesional service, there're more than enough staffs around but no one seems really helpful. Wine price is much overpriced although they got more than 30 wines by the glass listed. Food was nothing impressive plus a very strong smell of unfinished painting came from somewhere in the house. The toilet was a big mess in mixing with drunk people from... More

Date night out, I took my fiancee to Mr&Mrs Bund. Great french restaurant. High sealing, much space between table and amazing tasting food. As per Paul Pairet concept, the waiter and waitress are dressed informal like cool kids: not to our taste and not that knowledgeable as well... We might be back though ;-)

The hype that comes with Mr. & Mrs. Bund precedes and overwhelms the actual dining experience there. That being said, the food was good (4/5), the service was rushed yet attentive (3/5), the drinks were decent (3/5), the ambience bridged upscale bistro and chic lounge (4/5), however we left thinking "hm...that was Mr. & Mrs. Bund?" With so many options... More

I ate here with my business partner and we saved this restaurant for our final night in Shanghai as we had heard so many good things. I have to say the decor and the ambiance was superb, as was the food. The waitress recommended the asparagus which I thought seemed like a ridiculous thing to order in such a nice... More
