Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul Pairet. A modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Hours: Dinner: 5:30pm to 10:30pm (Monday to Sunday); Late Night Supper: 11:00pm to 2:00am (Thursday to Saturday)Accolades: No.43 in 2013 & No. 76 in 2014 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants & 51-100 list; No.7 in 2013 & No.11 in 2014 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

I have been to this restaurant few times already and this time I ordered a black cod for my starter. The black cod was soft and delicious just as always. I also tried their beef steak, and it did not have any bad smell from the blood. Overall, this restaurant is highly recommendable!

I took my two nieces (16 & 18 year's old) visiting China for the first time to Mr. & Mrs. Bund. Over the past 4 years I have been to this venue half a dozen times and each time the food and service was good. From the point of making the reservations, being seated, taking our order, indulging my guests... More

The food is excellent, the portions are not very small, as you would expect from this type of restaurant. And the atmosphere is always nice and bubbly. Excellent view of The Bund if you get a good table.

I will say this is probable the best restsurant in Shanghai because a destination I must drop by when visiting Shanghai. It was located at the most beautiful areas of bund in Shanghai. Through the BF glass window you can enjoy the most spectacular Shanghai night landscaper. Sitting with find dining and great music, make you feel like back to the... More

Mr & Mrs Bund is apparently one of the top restaurants of the world. We did not feel that way. We felt the food was hit and miss. A definite miss were the cod and the fried chicken. But the tuna mousse pate was excellent. The lemon dessert (an extra 50 CNY for lunch) was excellent. We went for the... More

This restaurant had been recommended to us on numerous occasions by friends and colleagues, and after reading some helpful reviews off of TripAdvisor, my wife and I decided to spend our anniversary here. Wow! The atmosphere was wonderful. Upon arrival we received very pleasant and welcoming service. We were led to the bar where the friendly bartender mixed us up... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
