Gorgeous Views, Excellent Staff, Wonderful Food

I visit Shanghai frequently, and this was on my list to try for quite some time. What a delight! The views are absolutely stunning. The servers were as attentive as any in the world. Every dish was fabulous.

In the past, I was very critical of Jade on 36 at the Shangri-la. Felt it was pretentious and overly expensive. To my utter delight and surprise, Executive Chef Nicholas Blair introduced me to the new Jade on 36. The view is idyllic. Chef Jeremy Biasiol is now in charge of the restaurant. Incredible. Chef Jeremy formerly owned a Michellin... More

One of my favorite places in Shanghai! I visited this place way back to 2012 to have the ladies night. I was impressive by the night view I saw and took my friends to come to have a look if I have the chance. The price didn’t come cheap with the view. But they served the drinks with some snacks... We stayed 4 nights at the Shangri-La and decided to try the French fusion restaurant run by michelin starred Jeremy Biasiol. The place is trendy yet relaxed with a mix of westenees and locals. We tried the recommended dishes: Frog legs, frois gras, Jade Garden and the beef cheek for main course. It was a wonderfull dinner. Chef Jeremy came... More

amongst all the fancy restuarants in Shanghai, Jade on 36 is the one we keep coming back. quality food and service is a must for all good restaurants, what make Jade special is they make you feel right at home. Being Gluten-sensitive, it is difficult eating out, whereas all the food & ingridients need to be wheat-free. Jade is able... More

The hotel is truly gorgeous - As you enter, you see a beautiful pond with fishes. The service staff are very helpful. The food is tasty - and the cutlery is out of this world. A bit on the higher side - but if you are a member of the Shangrila Golden circle, a good way to use your points.

When you have a great location, a fabulous brand and the prices you ask, there should be no surprise. My friends and I were very happy and as I said you should get what you pay for. The underlining message is it is expensive. Deliver expectations and don't be coy about fancy reviews. People pay for such an view and... More

Stunning view of both the Bund and Lujiazui in spacious and tasteful surroundings - a wonderful setting for a great evening. The food was tasty but the desserts really special. It is rare to find good desserts in Shanghai, but now we know where to go! The raspberry tiramisu and chocolate cake are the most popular and I cannot endorse... More

There are brunches and then there are experiences...this is the latter. Yes it is expensive but with champagne flowing, oysters, caviar, crab legs, foie gras, lobster and sushi to start and then a kitchen where you go in and can have steaks, duck, lobster, scallops, and other dishes cooked to order who can complain? Oh...and the view is amazing as... More

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighborhood Profile
Lujiazui
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
