Xiao long bao love!

Din Tai Fung is always a good and safe restaurant if you're craving for good dim sum and noodle soup. Try the fried pork chops too!

Best dumplings around. Friendly staff, very consistent and always crowded so don't be shocked if there is a wait.

Definitely worth a visit as the dumplings are delicious. We ordered a real mixture of vegetarian, chicken and shrimps. The chicken with truffles were so good. Meat options in my view were better than the vegetarian. This is a bright and casual restaurant suitable for large or small groups. Not a romantic choice but if it's dumplings you want then... More

Very very nice dim sums you cna have here, they are famous for their dumplings where inside it is with hot soup and meat, and the "skin" of the dumplings are so thin that you need to grab them carefully. Crab Xiao long bao is a must try as they use the hairy crab egg yolks, if you are not... More

I must admit that I have tried this Taiwanese chain of dumplings in Singapore, Hong Kong n Shanghai. Verdict - best in shanghai perhaps, the Xiao long bao is where it comes from ? Its always busy but be patient. You won't be disappointed with the good here but try ordering the various dumplings. It's freshly made, n a delight... More

Upstairs in mall at Xintiandi Very casual Good service but go at an off time or early because it gets crowded and a line forms to get in Recommend the speciality dumplings and spicy noodle dish Not quite the same as their restaurants in Tai Pei but still very good

Staying in Xintiandi

Neighborhood Profile
Xintiandi
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
