The food was absolutely amazing. I went with my friend and her parents and it was one of the best meals I had in Shanghai. We went on a Sunday so it was very busy, but the service was great and the wait wasn't long.

Ding Tai Fung is famous for its mouth watering "Xiao Lon Bao" (dumplings in bamboo steamers), prepared on site in a kitchen with glass windows/panels for all to observe. Its menu is well presented with photos and description of the ingredients used, not large, but sufficient to meet the taste and satisfy the stomach of local customers and those from... More

What a divine treat, these dumplings are are to die for. The service of the friendly staff is fantastic, very educational as they assisted us to make the right choices, of how many steamers, flavours and so on.

Didn't even know where my friend had taken me, but one taste of the Xiaolongbao from this place and I can see why people love the chain.

Fantastic food from a chain restaurant. I am not much of a dim sum diner, but, the variety and quality of this venue, deserves a Michelin star.

We know the manager Richie well and he is one of the friendliest and warmest individuals on earth. The food is uniformly tasty and the service is supremely attentive. We take all our family and friends to this wonderful gourmet Taiwanese dumpling and noodle bistro. It is the pride of Taiwan and represents its spirit of friendliness and warmth.

I’ve been to this chain’s restaurants in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. And now Shanghai. And the only question I have for the folks who run this large restaurant chain: When are you going to open some restaurants on the East Coast of the United States? The words that define the other branches of this chain I’ve visited certainly apply... More

Dumplings are made fresh-to-order...so delicious! Be sure to load them on to a spoon and eat them out of a bowl so you don't lose the delicious broth inside ! Nice place!

Ding Tai Fung is undoubtedly an exquisite Chinese dim sum restaurant with good environment and considerate service, but you can not find the genuine Shanghai taste in such Taiwannese restaurant if you aim for Shanghai Xiao Long Bao.
