Din Tai Fung is one of our favorite family restaurants in Shanghai. The food is high quality & service good too. We especially love the dumplings and green beans. This is our "dim sum" restaurant. The Xintiandi location is particularly good, given all the other things in the location & transportation. We never leave Din Tai Fung hungry or dissatisfied.

Food was good and so was the service. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for 6. I did not think it is expensive. We had a lot of food and paid an average of 28$ per person. Of course if you compare this with Shanghai’s street prices it is expensive. But, although I love eating at... More

Lunch for a quick meal. 5 Basic types of dimsum with a mix of vegetables, pork, shrimp, - noodles with a sesame dressing, tea, fruit. Personally the 'din tai fung' flavour can only be found in Taiwan. But the location is convenient, the tables are set so you can have a private conversation, and the service is always on point.

On our trip to China after researching online decided to try out this chain restaurant known for their delicious soup buns. Restaurant is situated on a major highway lined by high end stores. This small place is situated in the back right corner of a big mall... hard to spot from the main road. Place did not disappoint in the... More

Good service, but a bit expensive for fast food. Their dumplings were good, but not great. The service was really good! I'd come back for lunch, but not dinner.

Dined here tonight - excellent food, multiple versions of xiao long bao delicious. Soups good, spinach and garlic great and my son ate the fried rice before we could get any - clearly a sign of good food. Recommend highly.

We went twice for lunch and each time it was a very good experience. Some review states it is on the expensive side. To me that is like comparing street food prices with top class setting, service and quality. The pork dumplings are very good and not pricy, the hairy crap and pork dumplings is superb and should be tried... More

A chain restaurant that has mastered the art of delivering good taiwanese food and amazing Xiao Long Bao. It doesn't come cheap, so if you travel, it may be cheaper in another city near you. However if not, the hype is true and the food delicious. Yes it is busy and yes, the tourists all flock there. But then, it... More

Really excellent dumplings. Try to avoid meal times when the wait to be seated can be quite long. Everything I have tried has been delicious. I have also learned that they have slightly different menus in different cities. But this is the only branch I have been to in Shanghai - at least while you're waiting you can browse the... More
