High quality food in a nice setting. The dumplings and noodles were excellent. They have a good selection of red wines as well. The crispy duck was also very good. Price are on the high side but the food holds high quality and is a bit adapted to westerners.

Given the abundance of eating opportunities in of Xintiandi, I think my partner and I were fortunate to get into this restaurant late one Saturday night. It was third choice after other options were found to be booked out but thanks to our concierge we managed to get a late dining slot. While I have read comments about the downstairs... More

We've dined here twice on separate trips to Shanghai and have enjoyed it each time. The food and the setting are marvelous. The downstairs dining room definitely has the nicer decor compared to upstairs so get there early or make a reservation and specify that you want a table downstairs. There is a set menu for lunch with appetizers, entree... More

Had an excellent value lunch here today. Choice of 2 menses. Service was very good and the restaurant feels fancy. The food was lovely - 4 courses in all including dim sum, seafood soup, prawns and egg, beef with peppers, rice, broccoli and fruit. Complimentary tea and only 2.50 for a glass of wine when added to the set menu.... More

Ye Shangahi is located in a modern, two storey building on the edge of the very trendy Xintiandi entertainment district (a great place for an after dinner stroll). If you can, secure a table in the upstairs room which has a soaring ceiling and live entertainment (not too loud!) at dinner. The menu is quite extensive and you will have... More

tucked away in a small lane way is a "must do" dining experience to enjoy. This restaurant was a stand out with it wide selection of foods, wonderful flavors and warm staff. If you are adventurous and like warm foods, then try the chicken, with chill and peanuts.

How lucky we were to be in Shanghai during the hairy crab season, and to enjoy it at Ye Shanghai. Hairy crab are freshwater crabs about the size of Maryland blue crabs. Fortunately the hairy part is on the outside legs. The meat is sweet, but sparse overridden by the delicious eggs/roe. Ye Shanghai is a beautiful restaurant in an... More
