We were a large group and large groups usually test a place beyond casual dining and we came away feeling we had a really good evening with excellent food and attentive service. Food is not the usual bog standard offering in a Chinese restaurant - someone had sat down and come up with different takes on the usual dishes and... More

It was my wife's birthday and we went to the French section for a walk and found this place. I think they normally are full and need reservation but we arrived just ahead of the crowd. The food is excellent and the waiter spoke English and was quite helpful. One nice thing is you can order half a dish so... More

Restaurants like these are world standard places. Modern in every aspect. But local dishes, local flavors in an nice dining atmosphere. Dimly lit, nicely decorated restaurant, english menu, but does not have a touristy look. I had been here twice two years ago, and visited again last week. Had dumplings, duck, sweat sour seafood platter, spring rolls, pretty much all... More

We were lucky to get a table on a Tuesday night as walk-ins. Lovely room, efficient and friendly English-speaking owner and staff. The menu is extensive, backed by a solid wine list. We asked if we could order a dish at a time, no problem. The food began arriving and we were in heaven. We have eaten at the iconic... More

We went to Ye Shanghai in the fashionable Xintiandi for lunch. The place is clean and agreeable, with attentive waiters and waitresses serving you at the table. The lunch menu is more limited than the dinner one, but gives a good sampling of the quality of the cuisine. The hors d'oeuvre platters and the noodles were very tasty and well... More

I am sure there are better restaurants around, but Ye was quite good, with English on the menu...Easy to get a nice meal. Our guide of our private tour brought us here and handed us off to English speaking help. We ordered the most expensive of 3 set menus..88 yuan per person. We had 3 appetizers, hot and sour seafood... More

Restaurant is very nice and reasonable price (cheap comparing to Spanish restaurants). Well appointed and the food is very good. We went for dinner and there was a chinese girl singing by the piano. Great ambience. Highly recommended.

We wanted a lunch of roast duck and was recommended this place by our guide. It was fantastic and very cheap! We ordered the half duck for two which was a 2 course duck meal. First was the crispy bits in a pancake with hoisin and the accompaniments and the second part was a delicious ground dish which you wrapped... More
