Cute restaurant, good location, decent food, average priced.

Recommended to us by our tour guide, we stopped off here for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Classic Shanghai style food that is moderately priced (for this area at least) and pretty tasty. Serving portions are small so I'd recommend at least 1 dish per person.

This restaurant cannot be faulted. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable. The presentation of both the food and the restaurant were perfect. Try the shredded mandarin fish. Do everyone a favour though don't take your children, its far too nice

Ye Shanghai was the tour operators choice for lunch and even then we had a set menu, the food was plentiful, hot and delicious. The waitress kept our cups topped up with tea. The bathrooms were clean. Had planned to return on our free day to order from their menu, but we ran out of time.

Very nice old building. Clear seat and table. Small rest room. Foods are nice, small and delicious. Price is reasonable. Very enjoy this Shanghai style.

We visited Ye Shanghai on our last evening of our holidays in China. I found all the dishes really tasty, especially the variation they do with lamb inside the pancakea instead of duck. However, I might agree with some of the other comments that this is only for first time visitors amd not for avid Chinese food fans. Having eaten... More

Situated in the well renovated French Concession, this very modern restaurant does serve some delicious Shanghainese cuisine. Whilst the service was good I did find the staff to be a bit arrogant. Nice for a treat.

I'd heard about Ye Shanghai for a long time, but somehow never been. Boy, was I missing out. While Ye Shanghai is definitely an expensive and fancy restaurant, I also enjoyed a practically perfect meal exemplifying Shanghainese cooking. The staff were excellent, providing prompt service without hovering. Each course was done justice with sufficient time in between to talk and... More

So impressed with the food, absolutely delicious! Service was so attentive: our teacups and wine glasses were never empty, always full! Really enjoyed our dining experience here, will definitely go back next time when I'm in Shanghai!

I would recommend this beautifully decorated restaurant for western people who are fairly new to Asian spices but not to anyone who seeks out the more spicy regional dishes of China. The food is exceptionally well prepared, the setting is very nice and service is top notch. The Drunken Chicken is particularly good. Stay clear of the coctails , we... More

The restaurant showcases local Shanghai cuisine (as well as other Chinese dishes), and is excellent value for money with a really classy feel. Good service tops of a great experience.
