Truly local version of din tai fung where you can have lunch for 4 euros per person (cheaper if you don't order the crab dumpling) and eat excellent fresh "shanghai soup dumplings " . Pork , shrimp, crab they all are excellent, and, according to me , slightly fresher and better than din tai fung

This is the place to good for juicy and cheap xiaolongpao. 1 basket has 12 pcs. We ordered total of 42 pcs and blood soup and drinks. The bill came out ard 67RMB = $11. We are lucky to get there early and got a seat immediately. However when our shanghainese friend came in with Yang's fried dumplings from across... More

Really amazing xiaolongbau...but watch out, that slurp of soup is really hot. Delicious, freshly made dumplings with vinegar and fresh ginger on the side.

Superb Xiaolongbao in an unassuming, crammed little place off People's Square. The prices are rather fair, and the best thing on the menu are the normal pork/crab xiaolongbao (unless it is hairy crab season). A must-go in Shanghai!

Would always bring my friends and family here when they come to visit. Everyone is always impressed by how delicious the dumplings are. Skin is really thin and the fillings are fresh and not over-marinated with sauce. You taste the meat in their natural juices. Recommend the pure pork dumplings, the pork and crab meat dumplings and for the adventurous... More

My last visit to Shanghai, I decided to book my hotel close enough to Jia Jia Tang Bao so I could walk there for lunch daily, for 3 days. Enough said. And while you queue, share a plate of Sheng Jian Bao (Pan Fried Pork Bun) from Xiao Yang Sheng Jian right across from Jia Jia. This has become the... More

The steam xiao-long-bao is pretty good, very juicy and steaming hot! The price will depending on what you are getting! Some are reasonable priced (pork meat) and some are way over priced (crab meat). The service is extremely bad from the cashier all the way till the waiter and waitress. The place is not too clean, it's a very local... More

Yes, definitely go here! You'll tell from the line-up (or the white tiled front, red lettering and chinese-written menu hanging on right of entrance. The menu outside lists all the dumplings they make, but the menu hanging above the register (hanging tags they add & remove) is what they have available right then. You'll figure it out by the prices,... More

Basically, this place is a hole in the wall dumpling place, but one of my favorite meals anywhere in the world (proving that good doesn't have to be expensive or fancy). We went to this place twice for dumplings during our time in Shanghai. Even though they have a tripadvisor sign up in the window, this place appears to be... More

I've been coming here for about a year. The dumplings are outstanding. Make sure you order plenty of fresh ginger which is only 1 RMB per order. I have tried all the dumplings & the pure pork are my favorite. There are 12 per order for 13 RMB. They do run out of the pork by late afternoon so I... More
