Awesome Food, Awesome Service, Uncle Mick is REAL :D

My husband and I went on Monday, July 20. Neither of us had been there before since we're new to this area. I just gotta say the food was *awesome* The shrimp creme (can't remember exactly what it's called) was amazing AND it wasn't spicy at all so my husband could eat it. On the other hand, I had... read more

Stopped by here for dinner last week. It was a bit more casual than we expected but the price was right and the food was good (although the gumbo could use a bit less salt and a little more sausage/chicken). I like that there were fresh fruit side options. Service was excellent and friendly.

We wanted to go have a look at the old cotton gin plant but needed a place for lunch. Randomly walked into Uncle Mick and what a surprised it turned out to be. Loved the warm welcome and the tasting samples before ordering. Very friendly and pleasant staff perfectly compliments the great food. Our young daughter even got treated to... More

We took 12 guys from the golf course directly to Uncle Mick's. Owner let's you sample a dish to decide if you want it. Cajun flavors were authentic, staff is pure southern hospitality. Selections are cafeteria style, fish dishes are fresh. Plenty of selections for kids.

I have been to Uncle Micks several times. Now his menu is pretty much the same very time but his buffet style menu is great. Several Cajun options available. The crawfish étouffée is very good with his dirty rice.

Hi GBarber010, and thanks for taking the time to leave your review! Our Crawfish étouffée is one of our most popular dishes here. Have you tried a split entrée? - two ½ portion entrées and two sides - if you want a mix of flavors. And don't forget some dessert next time - we hear our Bourbon Bread Pudding is... More

The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is great. If you don't know what you want when you get there, you will be encouraged to taste many of the choices. I usually get the crawfish étouffée over dirty rice, but everything else I have had is great as well. Uncle Micks is a regular lunch spot for me.

Thanks, Martha From Alabama! It's always good to see our regulars leave a review - then we KNOW you enjoy your meals every time you eat here! :) Don't forget you can try a split entrée if you can't make up your mind about which one you want to try - that way you can try out TWO entrées! :)... The service alone would merit a rating of 5, but food gets a 5 too! Uncle Mick is the real deal - feels like you're a special guest in his home. Let's you taste it all before picking. Constantly checks on you, refills beverages, gave us military customers free Italian ice - just guessed we were military. A super kind... More

Hi Kevin! Thanks for leaving this review for us here on Trip Advisor. It is an honor to serve our Military and y'all are definitely more than "special guests" - y'all are our family in our "home away from home" - the least we can do is cook and serve our food with love - just like your Mama would.... My in-laws live in Prattville and introduced us to Uncle Micks and I honestly think we like going back to Prattville more for Uncle Micks then the in-laws. Shhh, don't tell anyone! LOL

This place is great! Took my adult son the first time. He's well-traveled, so he knows authentic Cajun food. He raved about it! The owner and staff were extremely friendly, and allowing customers to sample the offerings on the bar is sheer genius. I brought my husband the second time, and he also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's refreshing to... More

If you are not sure if you would like a menu item, just ask for a taste. They are freely given and encouraged. Great food, large portions and reasonably priced.
