Oxford is a good place to stop for coffee, gas, perhaps a meal between Atlanta and Birmingham. Now I have discovered another great reason and that is Garfrericks. Located in a non descript strip center crossing the threshold makes you think of a sophisticated modern urban setting. I ate at the Chef's counter overlooking the open kitchen and the enthusiasm... I grabbed lunch here the other day while traveling in the area. The building facade is somewhat unassuming but once you go inside, you can tell this is not your normal cafe. The furnishings are modern and the ceiling is very high with a ton of light. The menu is fairly simple but great choices. The staff was very attentive... More

We stumbled upon Garfrerick's while traveling between Atlanta and Birmingham - and we were so pleasantly surprised by both the excellent quality of the fresh, locally-sourced food and the very helpful wait staff and kitchen as they worked around our food sensitivities. No wonder the place was packed on a Friday evening! Our meals were delicious enough that we made... More

I happened to be in Oxford, Al., this weekend and a bunch of friends meet at Garfrerick's for dinner. It is in a little cluster of shops off the main hwy so you have to look for it I'd you are traveling in the dark and from out of town. But find your way there because the food was great!... More

Garfrerick's is a cafe associated with a single, local, farm - and so all of their food is local and organic. The restaurant sits in an unimposing strip-shopping center, but once inside the customer is greeted with a very relaxing and beautiful ambiance, very friendly staff, and great food. We were a party of 2. I ordered their burger (which... More

On the way to watch Alabama in the SEC Championship. The tomato salad is a must have. Food was great, service a bit slow, but worth it. Servers and hostess were very friendly. I recommend! ROLL TIDE!!!

Came across this one via internet. Took a chance, I met my brother & my 93 yr old mother there. Food was very creative & very good. The tomatoes salad was a meal in itself. The trout was also one if the best I've ever had. The veggies were just my style. Loved it. Worth the hour drive from Bham!

We were traveling on I-20 on a Sunday morning this summer and found Garfrerick's Cafe through tripadvisor. What a great find! We loved everything that we ate. The Sunday veggie brunch was outstanding. The vegetables were fresh and local. The hostess brought us samples of the wonderful juices. I wish I lived close enough to go here regularly! The outside... For lunch we had the Vegetable Buffet so we could try a variety of things. There were so many choices! The cream corn was divine. Squash casserole, cornbread salad, various breads, salads, cheese ball, macaroni and cheese. Everything I tried I liked but once again the cream corn was absolutely my favorite. I would like to return and order from... More

We were in a group of 11 and we all had the Sunday Vegetable Buffet. Everything was delicious and included some dishes we never had. The cornbread salad, quinoa salad with peaches and smoked salmon were very good. The hot dishes included creamed corn, roasted cauliflower, mushroom grits, and other items. you didn't need meat, there were so many vegetable... More
