Steamed everything no Fried foods

It was a really good change of pace going from fried foods to steamed. My wife loved the steamed royal reds and crab legs. My son had the steamed shrimp and he thought it was too much work. I had the stuffed shrimp and crab. It was awesome.

This place was awesome! Casual atmosphere and superb food. Nothing fried which was nice for us. The royal red shrimp was our favorite, but we also ordered blackened Mahi Mahi and a filet to spilt- hard to say which was the best. Service was fantastic as well!

We ate the Royal Red Steamers. They were good but nothing great about it. Restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. Prices were a bit higher than some area seafood restaurants. Not sure I would go back. Too many other other spots to try.

Great food, service isn't the best. We go here often, and have never had an issue with the quality of food. We did order the platter once and rather than Reds we got about 100 peel and eat cocktail shrimp. The waitress "forgot" to tell us, and they didn't give us a break on our check for this mishap.

Maybe I was expecting something else. But I had two skewers of shrimp and a vegetable plate which was good and plentiful. My wife had fried shrimp which she thought was very good. The other four at our table ordered steamed shrimp which to my wife and I did not look or smell very appetizing. I took home one of... More

I was recently in Orange Beach for a conference, so after some research I decided to try Gulf Shores Steamer. Now that about a month has passed and I can bring myself to think back on the experience (I got very sick I got shortly after eating here), I figure it's time to review. The whole thing was quite odd... More

This is a nice place, we somehow just expected more out of it for the price; We got the steamer for two; the crab legs and oysters were really good, but the shrimp actually seemed a bit dirty and hard to peel. Only had two small potatoes each and one small corn on the cob each.

Always a winner. Great location, good view, friendly staff. Royal Reds for two, bottle of wine, and dessert all for $70.00. Cant be beat. Other stuff on the menu looks good, but we always come for the shrimp. One of our favorite places while at the beach. Kid friendly too.

Had dinner there tonight with my wife and her parents. The place is casual, the food is good and the service was fine. At our table, we had royal reds, a potato/bacon/shrimp appetizer, gumbo and a Reuben. Nothing too exceptional (other than the appetizer, which was very, very good), but nothing bad. I would go back again.

I highly recommend this place if one does not mind spending some money because they serve the best crabs in town!
