My lovely wife's parents were visiting for the long Thanksgiving weekend and we were ready for something other than turkey and dressing by the time Saturday rolled around. They had enjoyed a great meal at the Mobile location during a past business trip so they recommended we head over for lunch at Wintzell's. Since we live in Gulf Shores the... More

Went to Wintzell's hoping for something better than the greasy, battered seafood you find up and down the beach. The exterior looks more upmarket, but the meal was only average. A good beer selection, but the food, a seafood platter, was dry and uninspiring. There are better local seafood places out there ... just takes a little hunting.

We both got seafood platters that were excellent. Fish, shrimp, scallops, and oysters! Everything cooked to perfection. The service was above par. Our server (Hayley) did a superb job and was alway smiling and friendly. Next trip to Orange Beach, we'll definitely go back!

Okay, listen up. This isn't the greatest place on Earth, but if you want a good meal without hunting all night, stop in. The food is not bad, and I must say on a good night it is usually very good. This is a laid back place and we feel comfortable there. We hit it a few times every July.... More

We had very poor service sitting outside on Sat eve. The chicken seemed microwaved flavorless and rubbery, the vegetables were canned and over cooked with fat back in the greens. We had to send that back. The fish tacos were just ok, they had old dried cabbage with a dry piece of lime, nothing fresh. I had raw oysters that... More

It was a typical coastal informal restaurant. It was very crowded and the service was rather slow. I sent the soup back as it was barely warm and the oysters were very small and nothing compared to the Acme Oyster House.

Compared to the other restaurants around the area that are "mom and pop" places, this one left me with no desire to return. The food was average at best, but the wait staff was great! It was low season and pretty empty so we received lots of attention!

The catch of the day had numerous large bones in it. The seafood au gratin was mostly sauce - very little shrimp or crab. The prices are double what they should be for what you get. The table next to us had a baby who dropped saltines all over the floor. After the table was bused the crackers were still... More

the quality of the food does not match the price....they are very proud of their food I'd say!! The atmosphere isn't worth it either.

Typical fried seafood, was not impressed. Waiter was new and forgot the simple details that made the meal a success. However, my guest had a excellent salmon salad with a very large piece of fish.
